Tonight saw the second of our club competitions - mens’ and womens’ epee. Congratulations go to Gareth Hamilton who beat Tim Love to retain his men’s title and to Denise Douglas who triumphed over Amber Reed - both of whom were fencing in their first tournament. Well done to everyone who competed to make it an exciting evening of competition fencing.
The finalists are pictured along with some action from each of the finals.

Some action from last night’s novice final.

11/12/2025

We were treated to a small but exciting novice foil competition last night. Thanks to Rob, Gary, Elliot and Elliott for taking part.
The final was a particularly skilful and thrilling affair between Rob Jones and Elliott Heap. It was nip and tuck all the way until, in the second session, Elliott pulled away into what seemed like a winning 14-12 lead. Rob, however, battling extreme exhaustion, managed to claw back the points to draw level and set up an exciting final point decider. Despite his skill and athleticism, Elliott was unable to claim the final point and Rob emerged the victor. This was a good display of fencing from 2 novices and we look forward to seeing them at the club in future.
Thanks to Gareth Hamilton for refereeing the final so well. The picture shows him between Rob ( left) and Elliott (right)
