Weekend Sailing Report
Saturday we ran two races, the Sarah Jane PH race with 4 boats and the president's race for the one single hander. The wind was easterly F3 and fickle making conditions a bit challenging and Mark had first capsize in his Comet. Well done to Grace and Oscar who pipped Nigel in a closely fought race. Thanks to Idris, William and John for covering duties.
On Sunday there was no Eyott race, but Andy and Nigel joined in with 2 races at Up River. John got out for a sail too. Wind even stronger easterly gusty winds, with William taking photos from Puff.

Sunday Race Report
A mixed day on the water. Only 3 boats started - probably due to the grey sky - but it was a doddle for the OOD, thanks Bob.
After 40 minutes Nigel was way out in front and feeling confident; so confident in fact he omitted to pass Miles on port on the second time around. Instead he went Olympic, Ledger, River. Being an honest chap he resailed that bit, gifting the win to Grace and squeaking home just two minutes ahead of Margaret on handicap.
A good wind from the west meant that there were lots of runs and reaches and little for Ray and William to do in the safety boat.
Mark arrived too late to race, but he joined the fleet in the main river for a bit of a play, just as the sun came out.
Overall a great midday race.

Open Day Report
We were really pleased to welcome 19 visitors to our open day last Saturday. The weather was excellent for sampling the fun of sailing. We welcomed young and old to try out sailing in Fenn Creek and had some very positive feedback on the day.

A rather late bank holiday weekend sailing update - can you remember it?
Saturday was race 3 of the Saturday series. A day of light winds - spot John leading the race with his rudder up! Thanks to Idris, Nigel and Grace for covering duties.
Sunday was the Coronation Trophy Points Race 4, just Nigel and Steve out to enjoy the good conditions. Thanks to Bob, John and Margaret for covering duties.
Bank Holiday Monday was a flotilla day, please see Nigel's write up attached. Photos (and maybe drone footage!) to follow

No weekend tides but that did not stop a lovely evening sail on Friday evening, followed by a lovely meal in the club house. Thank you Robyn and thanks to Nigel for the photos.

Weekend Sailing Report
A fantastic weekend for sailing with sun and wind aplenty. Saturday Nigel and Toby got out with Nigel giving the safety boat an opportunity to do something other than drink tea and enjoy the sun following a capsize. Thanks to Idris, John and Margret for covering duties.
On Sunday we had 9 boats out for the Secretary's Prize. F2 wind and more sunshine. Congratulations to John for the win in Jasper and thanks to Bob, Katy and Simon for covering the duties.

Ramp repair weekend!
With mid-day low tides it was the perfect weekend to attack the ramps, and attacked they were! Thanks to Mike, Simon, Nigel, William, Margaret, Ray, John, Idris, Steve, Jeremy and Andy for all their hard work across Saturday and Sunday, and special thanks to Sue for supplying lunchtime bacon sandwiches, they went down well and were chased by Margaret’s early rhubarb crumble.
We got a great deal of work done, replaced planks on both ramps and added strengthening beams to the ramp near the Club.

Easter Weekend sailing report
Storm Dave meant it was a bit blowy to go out on Friday and Saturday but Bank Holiday Monday did not disappoint with the wind being a little more exciting than forecast and the sun shining beautifully. We had 7 boats out for the RNLI Trophy which involved a trip up to Ferry buoy in tricky conditions against the tide and shifty ESE wind. Congratulations to Andy for the win closely followed by John and Jamie, Toby and Nigel. Thanks to Bob for OOD and Grace and Oscar for safety.
This weekend is ramp repair weekend, so do pop down to the club if you are able to help.

Results and some pictures from the Comet Open held at Eyott SC on 11 Oct. The club hosted 5 visitors with 12 Comets out for both races. It was a day of light and changeable winds, which meant a last minute change to the course out on the river. Congratulations to Eddie Pope for winning both races. Thanks to Sylvia, Nigel, Mark, Jeremy and Jennifer for duties. Comet Dinghy Class Association Comet Class Association
