Springfield Cricket Club

Sunday was a busy one at Springfield, with plenty of cricket being played across the club and lots to celebrate! 🏏

Our U9s put in a fantastic performance against Broomfield, securing a brilliant 73-run victory.

The U12s were also in superb form, beating Billericay by 110 runs. A special mention goes to Player of the Match Ajay Shankar, whose outstanding effort in the field included 3 catches and a wicket.

It wasn't our day for the U13s, who came up against a strong Upminster side and fell to a 9-wicket defeat. Plenty to learn from and we'll be back stronger next time.

To round off the day, our T20 XI kicked off their cup campaign in style with a 4-wicket win over Hawks CC in the first round. Congratulations to Player of the Match Abi Murugesh for a brilliant performance.

🏏 What a weekend for Springfield CC! 🏏

Three wins, some incredible individual performances, and plenty of reasons to celebrate across the club this weekend. 💙💛

The 1st XI got things started with a fantastic 5 wicket victory over Hornchurch Athletic. Fin Baker led the way with the ball, claiming 4 wickets and taking home Player of the Match honours. 👏🔥

The 2nd XI continued the winning feeling with a 42 run victory against Great Waltham. It was impossible to separate Henry Mileman and Jim Symonds, who shared Player of the Match after outstanding innings. Henry made a superb 63, while Jim agonisingly fell just short of a century with a brilliant 98. 💪🏏

The 3rd XI produced the biggest win of the day, beating Eastwood by 119 runs. Rishab Sankararaman and Shrihan Desai were joint Players of the Match after both starring in the victory. Rishi fell heartbreakingly short of a century with 98 runs, while Shrihan backed it up with a fantastic 4 wicket haul. ⭐👏

The 4th XI battled hard against Ilford Catholics but unfortunately came out on the wrong side of a 5 wicket defeat. Plenty of positives to take into next weekend.

The 5th XI were also unlucky to miss out on victory, losing by 36 runs to Great Baddow. However, there was a memorable Springfield debut for Amit Ojha, who scored a magnificent 93 and was deservedly named Player of the Match. An incredible start to life at the club and hopefully the first of many big contributions to come! 🙌🏏

A huge well done to everyone who pulled on a Springfield shirt this weekend. The results don't always go our way, but the effort, commitment and performances across the club continue to make us proud.

A tough evening for our T20 XI as Coggeshall Town CC took the win by 7 wickets in our first T20 game of the season.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Springfield posted 106-8 with Rob Chapman top scoring with 27, alongside Matt Trim’s 20 and 13 from Callum Eva.

Coggeshall chased the total down in 12.5 overs, but there were still some good performances to take from the game - with Callum Eva picking up 2 wickets and Rob Chapman taking 1 wicket putting in a brilliant all-round display to take Player of the Match 👏💚💛

Plenty more cricket to come this summer, we go again next week 👊

What a performance from our Springfield U12s tonight! 💛🏏

A fantastic all-round team effort saw the boys take a brilliant 96-run victory against Great Totham in the Brian Taylor Trophy!

Batting first, Springfield posted a huge 204-2 from 25 overs before bowling Great Totham out for 108. Everyone contributed in what was a superb performance across the board 👏

Special mention to Player of the Match Reyansh Bhatia, who brought up his first ever 50 and kept going to finish on an outstanding 67 runs! 🌟

The 1st XI were involved in a tense game against Neo CC that went right down to the wire, unfortunately ending in a 3 wicket loss. A strong performance from Callum Eva sees him named Player of the Match 👏

A massive day for the 2nd XI who secured a brilliant 140 run win against Tillingham! The standout moment came from Shaurya Thakur, who scored his first ever 2nd XI century and deservedly takes Player of the Match honours! 💯🔥

The 3rd XI were incredibly unlucky to lose by just 2 wickets against Boreham Royals after a hard-fought game throughout the afternoon. Player of the Match goes to Arni Lanka for another great contribution ⭐

And finally, a fantastic win for the 4th XI who beat Rayleigh III by 5 wickets! Oli Nicholls starred with his first senior century for the club, earning himself Player of the Match in style! 💯🙌
