Sports Insure Goalball UK Shield 2026!

This weekend, Chelmsford Goalball Club traveled to Nottingham to compete in the Sport’s Insure Goalball UK Shield Tournament.

This was a tough competitions, facing teams from across the UK.

Chelmsford played 4 games total, consisting of 2 round robin games in pool C, a placing game for 5th - 8th place and a final placing game for 7th - 8th place.

Game 1: Chelmsford - 3 vs Greater Manchester Falcons -6

Game 2: Chelmsford - 6 vs West Yorkshire - 5

Game 3: placing game: Chelmsford - 3 vs Watford Wizards - 7

Game 4: Final placing game: Chelmsford - 7 vs Northern Allstars - 5

Chelmsford entered a strong team who have shown great skills, teamwork and determination throughout the day which was reflected in their overall placing of 7th place out of 12 strong teams!!

We are very proud of our players and the standard of play they brought to this tournament.

We would like to thank our 2 coaches on the day for their encouragement, guidance and support. We would like to thank Warren at Cambridge Dons Goalball Club for his support with coaching team Chelmsford.

We would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Goalball UK for their work to organise and facilitate this event.

We would also like to thank The Primary Club for their ongoing support to the club which allows us to continue to train and compete in these events.

Visually Impaired Baseball Taster Session in Chelmsford!!

On Saturday 2nd May, there will be a Blind Baseball taster session being held at Essex Police Sports Ground, CM2 6DT

The session will run from 12pm-4pm and has been organised by our very own coach, Sean Briscomb and will be run by Great Britain Blind Baseball Coaches

This session is open to anyone over the age of 14.

New Mascot!

Welcome to Chelmsford goalball Clubs new mascot, koni the koala!

Shortened from Marconi, keeping our original radio theme going but also nicknamed cheddars!

Chelmsford Goalball Club would like to say a huge and sincere thank you to The Primary Club who have again generously supported us this year with funding.

This funding will allow us to continue running our club by supporting the facilitation of our regular training sessions for our team and providing sporting/ social opportunity for the visually impaired community in Essex.

Regional tournament 3 winners! πŸ†πŸ…

What a day for Chelmsford Goalball Club at the third and final regional tournament of the 25/26 season!

Chelmsford entered 2 strong teams who shown great strength, determination and teamwork. Both teams had tough competition throughout the day which included an exhilarating match between Chelmsford AM and Chelmsford FM!!

Chelmsford FM played against Watford Wizards, Croysutt Warriors, Chelmsford AM and Cambridge Dons and secured 4th place in the tournament!!

Chelmsford AM played against Croysutt Warriors, Cambridge Dons, Watford Wizards and Chelmsford FM where they won each of their games and secured first place in the tournament!! πŸ₯‡πŸ†

Individual awards!

We are pleased to announce that our very own Ellie Medhurst was awarded player of the day!! Well done Ellie!

Top Male Goalscorer for the 25/26 league, was awarded to Chris Fawcett!! Well done Chris!

This was an excellent day for Chelmsford Goalball Club and we are so proud of our players and the progress they have made since starting the club in 2024!

We would like to thank the coaches for the day, Sean, Ciaron and Maria for their support on the bench and their encouragement throughout the day, this would not have been possible without them.

We would also like to thank Goalball UK for their time and effort to make these events possible!

What a great weekend at the Oxford intermediate tournament!!!

It was great to have members of Chelmsford Goalball club teaming up with Cambridge Dons Goalball Club through out the season to make a great team, securing 5th place!!

Well done to everyone in the team and the great coaches!

We had a wonderful day at the intermediate tournament yesterday!

We came 5th in the end, winning two games and losing two games. We played well and fought for every minute.

We started the season as a development team and were delighted to welcome members from Chelmsford Goalball Club.

On Saturday, we were a true composite with Catrin from South Wales joining us, who won player of the day! Congrats, Catrin!
