Congratulations to former South Woodham Ferrers RFC player David Langley, who has hung up his boots following the 2025/26 season.
David played for us in 2013/14, moving on to Colchester, Cambridge and then Wasps, with the prop then moving on to Coventry and Moseley.
He has been with Moseley since 2021 and has now retired from competitive rugby.
We wish David & his family all the best for the next chapter of their lives.

After receiving his Clubman of the Year award yesterday, our retiring Club President Liam Murphy has sent the following message:
Hello everyone, and now that I’ve recovered from the amazing honour and messages from club members far and wide yesterday, a few thank you’s are in order; first to Joan and my children, I wouldn’t have done anything without their support; to the current committee who completely ambushed me yesterday, and to all the other committees I served over the years, I was but one part of a serious group of committed people over the years: to Gary Croker, Nigel Wilson and the late lamented Gerwyn Turner who in my first couple of years at the club instilled in me a club first ethos; to all supporters of this great club thank you.
Here’s looking forward to many years of supporting with you all. Much love and yes we are the people!!!

Our 2025/26 Presentation Day on Saturday saw club legend Liam Murphy recognised for his amazing contribution to South Woodham Ferrers RFC.
A bumper turnout for our Presentation Day saw our Minis & Youth celebrate their seasons with the award of trophies for each age group.
In addition, the Dave Parkinson Clubman of the Year award was presented to Liam Murphy, who is stepping down as Club President this summer.
Liam has been President for four years, and also served the club as Youth Chairman, Chairman and run the clubhouse and bar in recent years.
A new award was also introduced, with the first Liam Murphy Clubperson of the Year award being presented to Minis & Youth Chairperson Kyley Dewey-Jessener.
Club Chairman Marc Jiggins said: "Liam has been involved in the club for more than 25 years - without him, this club simply would not be here.
"Rugby clubs are built on commitment of volunteers and Liam has been pivotal in the last 40 years.
"Dave Parkinson was a legend of this club and it's fitting that we retire the trophy in his honour with one last name on it."
Liam said: "I'm absolutely blown away. I've loved every minute of it, the ups and the downs, because of the people.
"I've loved all the people I've met over the years and I'm very proud of every bit of work I've ever done for this club. It's very close to my heart. This is amazing and I thank everyone very much."
The 2025/26 Coach of the Year award was presented to Joe Dukelow to mark his work with the club's Ferrets team - after a three-year stint he will move up to Under-7s next season.
Thanks to everyone who attended today - and thanks to all the players, coaches, volunteers & parents for your support throughout this season!
Any players wishing to join the Minis & Youth section for the 2026/27 season can contact Kyley via 07519 488999, with training set to resume in September.

Last weekend our Under-12s were the latest squad to enjoy an end-of-season tour!
This was the Under-12 squad's first tour as they headed down to Kent for a weekend of team-building and making memories.
Saturday saw the squad - in the Where's Wally theme - visit Go Ape, which was followed by an evening of pizza, games and Kangaroo Court.
Sunday then saw us face Cranbrook and the boys played some amazing rugby in the sunny conditions.
The boys did themselves proud with some proper tour rugby - thanks to all the players and parents for a brilliant weekend to end a fantastic season.
