What a weekend. Both Jas and Veronica had a great weekend competing in Bala at the British standard distance championships. Both of them have worked incredibly hard in the run into this race, fully committing to the process. It’s no surprise to see them both racing incredibly well. Another consistent high level performance for Veronica at the back end of a jam packed year, and an exciting debut at the distance for Jas! Plenty more to come.

It’s been a busy period of racing for our athletes, with many more results to celebrate and share.

Endurance training isn’t only about putting in the miles, being strong enough to put them in week in week out until you realise the improvements is key. That’s why every athlete we coach gets more than a training plan. You get direct access to our in-house physio and sports therapist, fully integrated into your coaching, not bolted on as an afterthought.

How it works? Your endurance programme is built around your goals, life, and current physiology. Niggles get flagged and assessed early by our in-house sports therapist, catching them before they become setbacks. Targeted prehab/rehab work to fix what’s flagged and bulletproof what isn’t is built straight into your plan. Strength and conditioning closes the loop. It’s built on what the assessment and rehab work uncovered.

This all feeds back into your coaching, continuously adjusted, session by session. Performance based coaching: one team, one plan, no gaps between your training and your recovery.

Very proud of the team over these last few weeks. Results have been flying in and it makes us incredibly proud seeing how our athletes have got on at their events.

Sub 10 Ironman at Roth for Dave after a short run in with the main focus on having been on the 70.3 distance this year.

A career first for me as a coach to have an athlete placing on the overall podium and 1st in AG at the European standard duathlon championships in Banyoles for Veronica. This is only the first of 2 races whilst she’s out there competing with the middle distance race next weekend!

Ben put out a great debut performance over the middle distance at the Cotswold Classic. With limited training hours available, a busy family/work life, and being new to the distance, this was a great way to kick off his middle distance journey.

Coach Henry raced this Croyde triathlon in the build up to Embrunman in 5 weeks time. A suitably tough course to test the legs after a solid training week, showing good signs in the lead up to what is going to be a challenging day in Embrun over the full distance posting an overall win by over 10mins.

Almost too many results to fit on the page, that’s how you know racing season is well and truly upon us! The team have been out at multiple events across the 10km and half marathon distance. Athletes running for difference reasons from PB attempts, to benchmark runs, race practice, or pure racing enjoyment.

When progressing training, do so sensibly, find the minimal effective dose to yield improvements. Focus on the long term.

A few of our athletes had a good midweek hit out at our local timed swims last week. The team smashed it across the varying distances, with it also being Sarah and Marks first open water swim of the season! In our opinion these timed swims are invaluable for our athletes. Do you practice in the open water?

Last weekend was a big weekend for a few of our athletes, taking on a couple of different half distance triathlon events. Both Rob and Will at the Cotswold 113, a great local event, and Dave taking on the European scene in Warsaw.

Some serious hard work has gone in from all three of the guys for these events, all of them at different stages in their triathlon journeys. Will’s first half distance, posting an incredible 2:34 bike split on a road bike. Rob using this as a prep race for Outlaw Full, taking an hour off his current 70.3 PB in the process. Dave looking to further develop his performances when already putting out some super strong times, resulting in his most well rounded 70.3 race to date with improvement across the board.

As always, there was lots of useful takeaways for everyone. With all of them invested in the long game, there’s plenty more improvement to come!
