Back from an amazing weekend away in Vienna.
My first visit and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough; some places just have that special feeling!
Managed to squeeze in a run whilst I was there and delighted to come away with overall 3rd place at the Half Marathon.
It was a tough race, -1 degrees on the start line (as picture 2 shows, such extreme conditions call for....the addition of small gloves 😂).
Felt great from the start, and thanks to a strong challenge from some of the other racers, I was pushed to reach a PB of 1:17.31 to hold onto 3rd place and come home with a little souvenir 🏆.

Oxford Half done ✅.
Pleased to finish in under 80 minutes again and come away with a 1:19:21.
It would have been nice to challenge for a PB, but from half distance I knew my legs were tiring from a long few weeks of racing.
Looking forward to a bit of rest and planning for Marathon distance next spring!
Huge congratulations to my big bro .gallimore1005 for smashing his today and achieving the Sub 3 hrs!

Last race of the autumn season for me tomorrow
With my Sub 80 goal in the bag from Bristol, tomorrow will be a pressure free day.
Will give another PB a go, but the main goal is to simply enjoy the run.
Good luck to everyone else racing!

Throwing it back to my first post on this account, 15 April, the day after I finished the Putney & Fulham Half in 1:37.
I had let work get on top of me, neglected training and fallen out of shape. I was disappointed with what I saw in the mirror, and more importantly how I felt on a daily basis.
I made a decision to turn things around. I re-prioritised my life making my passion and the things I enjoy a significant part of what I do.
Not only was I determined to get back into shape, I wanted to be in the best shape of my life.
On Sunday I finished the Bristol Half in 1:18 PB, smashing the goal I had set myself...a Sub 80 Half in 2018.
I couldn’t be happier with where I am now. I have more plans for 2019 and can’t wait to get started.
If you have a goal, or need some advice or motivation to see the results you have been chasing get in touch today.
I offer Personal Training in Cheltenham Gloucestershire, along with running training plans for all levels.
With the right effort, determination and GRIT, you can also achieve your goals!

✅ Sub 80 Goal Achieved!
🚨 1:18:51 Half Marathon PB
All the hard work paid off, absolutely delighted to walk away with my Sub 80 and a new PB at the .
Felt strong all the way up until mile 9 when my legs went away and I felt the strength drain from them. A horrible feeling as they stop responding...I was expecting this off the back of a bad cold in the last week.
A really tough 10th mile struggling to stay in touch with the group around me, started to think I’d blown in and I was going to hit the wall.
With 3 miles to go I told my legs they could simply “🤬 off”...this was happening whether they liked it or not, I was going to drag them to the finish line! I’d put the work in and I wanted this result.
3 miles focusing on my pace, taking each mile as it came. I tried my best to stay constant at 5:50 and shock them back into action.
Thankfully I was able to hold on and dip under the 1:19 barrier by 9 seconds, a huge bonus on the day.
Two races left this Autumn, I can now relax and enjoy both knowing this years goal is in the bag.

Enjoyed the this morning, very well organised event.
Today was all about pacing and seeing how my legs will respond to 6min/Miles in the later stages of my sub 80 attempt.
First time I have ever run a half without a time data field on my watch, focused purely on distance and pace.
Pleased with the result, felt strong at the end, even in the 12th mile up the long drag of Pipers Way!
Congratulations to everyone who ran Swindon today, and all the others races around the country.

race number has just turned up.
3 months of foundation work, building up the miles and getting the key strength and mobility exercises in.
Followed by a 12 week training program. A combination of speed and endurance running 6 days and 40-50 miles per week.
All of this to try and run 13.1 miles in under 80 minutes.
To a lot of people it sounds a bit mad, to some a good idea. Then there are those going further, longer, and harder than I could ever dream of.
Most importantly though it’s my goal, and it’s what I am passionate about achieving. I strongly encourage people to follow their passion and chase down their own goals, whatever they are.
It’s your goal, it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else. Get out there and earn it.

Great morning at the . Nice flat route through some of the big sights of Cardiff. Although if I’m honest I spent most of the run looking at my watch 🤦🏼♂️.
Got the pacing spot on though and came away with exactly what I was looking for, a 10k PB and a sub36 Run 👊🏻.
Congratulations to everyone who ran this morning...as usual a super friendly atmosphere, nice chatting to lots of runners before and after the event.

Consistency is key!
Listened to my legs today and stuck with the planned rest day.
Reminded myself that my goal is a sub 80 half at , not to run 200miles in August because it’s a round number.
August has been a great month for training and included my first ever race win which was a great experience!
I’m now closing out week 9 of my 12 week plan and seeing some solid improvements. Hopefully that will continue into a September full of PB’s, first stop

Very pleased to take overall 1st place at the Severn Bridge 10k on Sunday.
Pretty torrential conditions, but that just made it all the more fun! Thanks to all the marshals for being such a friendly bunch despite standing out in the rain all morning.
