My approach :
Most training programmes start with a plan written on paper.
Sets, reps, exercises scheduled days in advance.
But people are not machines, and the body doesn’t perform the same way every day.
Energy changes. Stress changes. Sleep changes. Mental state changes.
My coaching is based on what I call Observational & Adaptive Training.
When a client arrives, I observe not only how they move, but how they are physically and mentally. Their breathing, their posture, their energy, their focus.
From there the training adapts.
Sometimes that means strength work and intensity.
Sometimes it means slowing down, focusing on movement quality, breathing, or simply walking and resetting the nervous system.
For example, if a 72-year-old client with Parkinson’s arrives stressed and shaking, forcing them through a loud gym workout because it’s written on a programme would make little sense.
Instead we might walk around the park, breathe, move gently, and allow the body to settle before doing anything more demanding.
Training should respond to the person in front of you not to a piece of paper written the day before.
Over time my clients learn something far more valuable than a workout:
they learn how to understand their own body and mind , regulate effort, and train in a way that supports their health for the long term.
That’s the essence of Observational & Adaptive Training.
