Hello! I see there are a few new faces on here so I thought I would introduce myself to you. 👋 I am Jojo Stephenson, founder of Jojo’s Pilates. I am a certified Pilates & Barre Instructor. 🇨🇦🇬🇧I come from British parents but grew up in Toronto. My adventurous nature brought me to London in 1999 where I worked in film/tv marketing. It was supposed to be temporary but love and life whisked me up and took me to Cape Town with a husband and 7 week old baby. I had my second child in South Africa, and while life wasn’t busy enough I felt something was missing. 🩰My ballet past left me itching for creative movement again and that’s when I decided to qualify as a Pilates Instructor. So after 3 years of fun in the sun we were back in the U.K. pregnant with number 3! Fast forward and I have now been teaching for 18 years, have 3 children taller than me (at 5ft2” it’s not hard!), and I just turned 50! I have been teaching privately and in studio settings for years, but Covid changed things and my business immediately evolved into an online business with live zoom classes and my virtual Pilates & Barre Video Subscription designed to help you stay healthy, strong and feel amazing anytime and anywhere you are. Building my website was labour of love with my husband (we didn’t kill each other 🤦🏻♀️) and I am so happy to be sharing it with you now. I have been lucky enough to have run my business by word of mouth over the years, so this public display is somewhat out of my comfort zone, but I have so much to share I am happy to now have a platform to post! 😀I love my clients, we are always laughing. I love a challenge, and working to find the source of issues and how we can find mindful movement for lasting change! ⭐️You will find me...chatting with friends afar, hugging my Yorkie, researching veggie recipes, cooking for my boys, learning new meditations from my daughter, drinking lemon water and oat milk Cappucini’s(morn), Negroni’s(not every night!),and always doing Pilates! ❓Tell me more about you-name,where ur from? International Women’s Day is soon approaching and we would like to celebrate it with you! On Sunday March 7th at 9:30am join us for a 75 minute FREE virtual class. A perfect fusion of Pilates and Yoga to empower and harness our inner goddess.
The first half will be a Pilates class with Jojo to strengthen the inner core and mobilise the spine and then we will flow into a Yoga session with Nikki (www.opendooryogahouse.co.uk) to focus on lower body strength, leading into deep hip releases and ending with a nourishing breathing practice.
As a gift to the goddesses we are, we need to love ourselves and celebrate the feminine energy that makes us shine. Link in bio Or

Sooooooo true! This lock down seems to be harder for all of us. I try daily to muster up something to laugh about or look forward to, on top of trying to pick up my 3 kids who find all school and no play life very boring. Sometimes I feel like this picture ‘FLAT’. It’s hard to muster the energy to exercise under the grey skies when I just want a blanket around me, BUT most of the time I am feeling pretty happy. I feel happy because I do Pilates every day (my vocation I know), but after I move I feel stronger, after I stretch I feel looser, after I breath properly I feel less stressed, after I balance I feel less lop-sided, after I see clients I laugh at the funny jokes they shared, and after I am done I feel I have accomplished something great for the health of my body and mind!
