Do you have a passion for swimming and inspiring others to achieve their potential in the water? We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Swimming Instructor to join our team!

🏊 The Role
- Deliver engaging swimming lessons for children and adults of all abilities
- Help swimmers build confidence, improve technique and develop essential water skills
- Create a positive, safe and enjoyable learning environment
- Work as part of a friendly and supportive team

✅ What We're Looking For
- Swim England Level 1 or Level 2 qualification
- Experience teaching in a swim school environment
- A genuine passion for swimming and working with people
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude

📍 Location: Cheltenham
💷 Pay: £19.50 per hour
🕒 Hours: Permanent, part-time role with a minimum of 3 hours per week. We are ideally looking for an Instructor who can pick up shifts on Thursdays from 13.30 - 18.30. Additional shifts may be available.

🏊‍♀️ This Friday (31st July) is Lifeguard Appreciation Day! ❤️

This week, we’d like to shine a spotlight on the incredible team of lifeguards here at Cheltenham Ladies’ College Health & Fitness Centre.

Every day, they do far more than simply watch over the pool. They help keep our members and swimmers safe, respond calmly in emergencies, support swimming lessons, provide first aid when needed, and create a welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy the water with confidence.

Being a lifeguard takes vigilance, professionalism, teamwork, and the ability to make critical decisions in a matter of seconds. While much of what they do happens behind the scenes, their dedication makes a real difference every single day.

💙 This Friday, if you’re visiting the centre, we’d love you to take a moment to say “Thank you” to one of our lifeguards. A few kind words can mean a great deal to those who work so hard to keep our community safe.

CLC Health & Fitness Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Swim Teacher to join our team.

📍 Thursdays ⏰ Primary Schools: 1:30pm – 3:30pm ⏰ Group Lessons: 3:30pm – 6:30pm
💷 £19.50 per hour + holiday pay

We're looking for someone who: ✅ Holds a Swim England Level 1 or 2 qualification ✅ Has experience teaching within a swim school environment ✅ Enjoys working with children and adults of all abilities ✅ Is passionate about helping swimmers develop their skills, technique and confidence

Rookie Lifeguard is a fun, engaging programme designed to teach essential water safety and lifesaving skills while building confidence in and around the water.

Participants will learn:

✅ Basic lifesaving and rescue techniques
✅ CPR awareness and how to respond in an emergency
✅ Teamwork, leadership and confidence-building skills

It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn valuable life skills, make new friends and have fun along the way!

🏊‍♂️ Become a Qualified Pool Lifeguard This Summer! 🏊‍♀️

Looking for a rewarding job with flexible hours? Want to gain valuable lifesaving skills and a nationally recognised qualification?

Turn your swimming skills into a nationally recognised qualification and open the door to exciting employment opportunities!

We’re running a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course at Cheltenham Ladies’ College Health & Fitness Centre this July.

📅 Tuesday 21st July – Sunday 26th July 2026
(No training on Saturday 25th July)

Over five intensive days you’ll learn essential lifesaving skills, including:
🏊 Pool rescue techniques
❤️ CPR & First Aid
⚡ AED (defibrillator) use
🚨 Emergency response procedures
📖 Lifeguarding theory and practical skills

On successful completion you’ll achieve the RLSS UK Level 3 Award in Pool Lifeguarding (NPLQ)—the qualification recognised by leisure centres across the UK and often the first step towards an exciting career in the leisure industry.

Who can apply?
✔️ You’ll be 16 or over by the final assessment.
✔️ You’re a confident swimmer and can meet the NPLQ swim test requirements.
✔️ You’re committed to attending every day of the course.

Whether you’re looking for your first job, a role alongside college or university, or a career in leisure, becoming a lifeguard is a fantastic way to build confidence, develop invaluable lifesaving skills and make a real difference.
