A few match reports from the weekend

Under 18 Boys 7 v 1 Hebburn
A fantastic team performance from front to back with every player giving 100%. Hebburn didn’t make it easy for us but we played so well as a team that we dominated play for large periods of the match. Some fantastic goals scored, 2 x Ethan, Josh, Isaac, Harvey, Albie and Will however the defence played a huge part in the result and were solid as a unit. MOM went to Ethan

Under 11 Pumas v Wearside Utd
We played well today. Millie scored a great long range goal and also did a fantastic job of keeping Wearside’s best player quiet. Unfortunately, that player made the difference to the final result

Under 12 Wildcats 9 v 0 Seaham Red Star
NAYFC U12 Wildcats Roar to Victory
The Wildcats bounced back strongly in their second game, putting their training into action with a confident team performance. Miya scored four and earned Player of the Match, while Caitlyn, Anna, Alice and Maddie also found the net. Lily kept a clean sheet, supported by an organised defence. A fantastic reward for the team’s hard work, determination and progress

Under 13 Wildcats 4 v 3 NYSA
The girls came out on top in a closely fought game. They were excellent in the first half, racing into a 3-1 lead. NYSA drew level after the break, but Aycliffe stayed strong and got their reward with a winner five minutes from time. Elly Barber was unplayable, scoring all four goals. A mature, hardworking team display in only their second game back in the top division.

Trimdon v Under 8 Falcons
A brilliant, close game, with both sides coming in after wins in their opening matches. Falcons edged an excellent contest, with goals from Kobie, Chris, Arthur & William. Lincoln, Archie, Charlie and Vinny all played their part. ⭐ MoM went to Kobie and Alfie, who was superb in his first ever game

Under 13 Falcons 3 v 5 South Park Rangers
Mixed emotions for the Falcons and a game they really didn’t deserve to lose. South Park’s keeper made some outstanding saves. Falcons fought back to 3-4 and looked like they were going to get the equaliser any minute. South Park pounced on a mistake and scored in the last minute to put it out of reach. Goals John x 2 & Hunter.
POM John - 2 goals. 1 assist, scored a free kick from miles out.

North Ormesby 2 v 3 Under 12 Eagles
The U12 Eagles maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-2 victory away at North Ormesby. It was a hard fought 1st half playing into the wind & up a slight hill but the lads managed the conditions and played well. In the second half the lads had the momentum & despite peppering the Ormesby goal they couldn’t find the net. Another solid performance from the lads in a challenging game.

First session yesterday and what a great time we all had, Plenty of happy smiling faces, confidence growing as the session progressed and everyone looking forward to next Wednesday.
We only have a couple of spaces left for Girls ,at Nursery age or Reception class age.
We are at our maximum numbers for boys , at this time.

Many of you will be aware that Brian Rose, one of the founders of our football club, sadly passed away on 8th December 2025.

In Brian’s memory, his son Stuart, alongside colleagues from HSBC, will be taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on Friday 18th September.

They are hoping to raise £5,000 for the football club as a lasting tribute to Brian and his contribution to the club.

On Monday 14th September , 18 coaches from teams across the football club , attended a CPD event at Greenfield Academy, , presented by Andy Dixon from Durham FA. The session started with 1 hour of theory and followed by 1 hour practical, around "Finishing". Thank you to all those who gave up their time to attend and a special thanks to the players from our Under 13 Falcons, who volunteered for the practical session (and their parents for giving up a Monday evening to bring the lads along). These sessions will be a benefit to all our players as we progress through this season , with another 2 planned. Follow this page for news and updates throughout the season

Hurworth Albion 0 v 7 Under 12 Eagles
The Eagles continued their impressive start to the season securing another clean sheet and bagging another 7 goals in the process. The scoreline does not reflect the challenge that Hurworth put up today, but the Eagles were the better team all round. Defensively very strong and assured and dangerous from every attack. In truth the lads would have been good value for more today. Eagles flying high!

Under 13 Falcons 6 v 1 South Park Rangers
Great performance from the whole team, creating loads of chances and scoring some great team goals. There were 6 different goal scorers with goals for Sam. Zach, Phoenix, John, Leo and Harry. Assists for John, Sam, Leo and George. South Park scored a penalty to make it 2-1 but the team bounced back and scored 4 more for the win.

Under 14 Girls 13 v 2 Deerness Valley
A dominant game from Aycliffe, Amelia and Phoebe being a strong force upfront, getting 5 and 4 goals retrospectively. Varia controlled the midfield and got herself 2 goals, one directly coming from a corner. Daisy went from goalkeeper to goalscorer after shooting from the edge of the box, as Lily volunteered to go in the second half. Amazing team effort and a well deserved victory

Deerness Valley 5 v 2 Under 18 Boys
Missing 4 players we made the decision to make some last minute signings from the recently folded team a year below. Playing our first game in the premier league today and the lads put on an impressive performance. Although the result didn’t go our way we competed well and 3 of the goals conceded we don’t let in on another day. Overall a good match. Goals from Hamza, Olly. MOM Josh on his debut

U11 Pumas v Horden CW
Not a great first half, 3 down at half time.
Second half however we were brilliant. The work rate was excellent from every girl.
A good passing move was eventually finished off by Fran, come back on.
Emily G pounced on a throw by their GK. She did really well to find the net. 2-3.
Unfortunately we didn't find a third but deserved a draw.
Lily was excellent, awarded player of the match.

Under 9 Eagles v Darlington TSC
A fantastic performance from the boys, securing an impressive victory
The team showed great energy, teamwork and determination throughout the match. We played some excellent football, created plenty of chances and worked hard for each other both in possession and when defending.
There were lots of positive moments from the boys, with everyone contributing to a strong team performance. Most importantly, the players showed a great attitude, enjoyed their football and supported each other from start to finish.
A brilliant effort from everyone — well done, boys! 👏⚽

Under 10 Eagles v Whitburn Panthers
A great performance by the U10 Eagles to register their first win of the season. The first half was tough playing onto the wind but the lads kept the opposition at bay and managed to get a goal before half time. The second half the lads passed the ball about well and managed to notch another four goals without reply. Scorers Tate, Luke x2 and Oscar x2. A fantastic performance by all players.

Under 11 Wildcats v Whickham
The girls started the game brightly and took the lead through Elise following a mistake by the opposition goal keeper. We should have doubled our lead before half time which would have given us a good platform ahead of the second half. In the second period we upped our intensity however we let two goals in and we were unable to find an equaliser following some decent opportunities before full time.

Primrose Hill v Under 8 Falcons
What a performance from the Falcons! With Chris and Arthur leading the scoring, Kobie celebrated his first hat-trick, Archie got his first goal of the season, William scored a Goal of the Season contender. Charlie & Vinnie were superb, while Lincoln kept a clean sheet. Brilliant team display!

We’re now entering the final countdown to an exciting new chapter for our youngest footballers! 💙
Our Rising Stars sessions are just around the corner, and we’re incredibly excited to welcome the children as they take their first step on their football pathway. 🌟⚽
Everything is now in place and we’re ready to kick off!

Some results from the first weekend of the season

Under 11 Pumas v Hetton Athenas
First game of the season and the Pumas played well. Hetton had a powerful player who scored both goals. Other than that Pumas had the majority of the ball in Hetton's half for large parts of the game. We battled well and passed the ball really well.

Under 12 Eagles 5 v 0 Prissick Rovers Athletic
The Eagles continued their fine pre-season form into the first game of the season recording a strong 5-0 win to get the league campaign underway. The lads bossed the first half at 4-0 and in truth it could have been more. The second half showed some rustiness but the lads never looked to be in trouble and probably should have added more than 1 in the 2nd period. Off to a good start.

Darlington Locos 3 v 5 Under 16 Girls
We started well but against the run of play Darlo took the lead. The girls quickly bounced back and ended the first half 3-1 up. Darlo picked up the pace and got the game to 3-3. A defensive reshuffle steadied the ship, and the girls went back on the attack, scoring two goals in the last 15 minutes to secure all 3 points, and start the new season in the best way possible.

Auckland Moors U14 Girls 1 v 3 U13 Falcons
Great start to the season for the Falcons. A goal in the 1st minute from Zach after pressuring the keeper gave the team the confidence they needed to push on against a strong physical side. Every player gave 100%. Brilliant debut for Jake in goal. Phoenix scored a worldie and Hunter sealed the win using his strength to power through on goal.

🔵⚪ WE’RE BUILDING AGAIN — AND THIS TIME, WE HAVE A YEAR TO BUILD IT RIGHT. ⚽️

Newton Aycliffe Youth Women FC is starting a new chapter.

We’re beginning the journey of building a new Women’s team, with the aim of entering the Durham FA League next season.

And the exciting part? We’re not rushing it.

We have almost a full year to bring a group together, develop as footballers, build friendships, create the right culture and mould a team that is ready to compete when the first whistle blows next season. 💙

We’d love to hear from former Newton Aycliffe Youth players who fancy coming back, players who have stepped away from football and want to return, players looking for a new challenge, and women who may never have played before but would love to start.

Because what we want to build is about more than just football.

Yes, we’ll work on technical ability, fitness, tactics and understanding the game. But we’ll also spend time away from the pitch working on things that can make a difference both in football and everyday life:

⚽ Building confidence and self-belief
🧠 Developing a stronger mindset and resilience
💪 Understanding strength, conditioning and injury prevention
🤝 Building friendships, trust and team culture
❤️ Creating an environment where people support one another
📈 Helping every player become a better version of themselves

There’s a quote that sums up exactly what we want to create:

“On every team, there is a core group that sets the tone for everyone else. If the tone is positive, you have half the battle won.”

That culture starts with the very first players who walk through the door in October.

You won’t be joining somebody else’s established team.

You’ll be helping to build your own.

A year to learn.
A year to develop.
A year to build friendships.
A year to create our identity.

Then, when next season arrives, we’ll be ready to take that journey into competitive football together. 💙⚽️
