π Join us for an exciting event on August 17th at our Thursday club meeting! We're teaming up to support the amazing mental health charity, Mind. Let's raise awareness and show our support for mental health and wellbeing.
π£ββοΈ Whether you love paddling or prefer a leisurely walk, there's something for everyone. Bring your friends and family for a day of positive vibes and great company and don't miss our mouth-watering cake stall at 8 pm, where all proceeds go to Mind.
π¬ Let's start meaningful conversations about mental health among friends and create a friendly, supportive environment. We're proud to share a story from Mat Sefton, who found solace and strength through kayaking, overcoming his own mental health issues. Read his inspiring post on our website!
π More details can be found on our website, along with Mat's personal journey and how kayaking helped him. Don't miss out on this opportunity to make a difference together! See you there! π

As you are aware Deva Canoe Club has been awarded Champion Club status by British Canoeing for our commitment to environmental sustainability! ππΆπ
Yesterday, we were joined by MP Samantha Dixon and Chantelle Grundy from British Canoeing to celebrate this achievement and do our bit for the local community. Not only did the MP present us with the Champion Club plaque, but she also wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty and helped us pick up litter along the river bank. πͺπ―
A big thank you to all our club members and everyone who joined us for the clean-up event. Together, we collected numerous bags of litter and even found some unusual items including a blow-up doll, a full wheel complete with tire, and a sailor's hat! π€
We're committed to promoting environmental sustainability and protecting our local waterways, and we'll continue to lobby Welsh Water to improve the water quality of the River Dee and clear invasive species such as Pennywort. π±
Thank you to MP Samantha Dixon and Chantelle Grundy for their support and for getting their hands dirty with us as we worked towards our goal of environmental sustainability and protecting our local waterways. We hope to see more groups like ours taking action to help make our waterways safer and cleaner for everyone! ππΆ

π£ββοΈππ Exciting news! Deva Canoe Club has recently been awarded Champion Club status by British Canoeing for our dedication to environmental sustainability! ππ
As a club, we take pride in protecting our local environment and have supported initiatives such as reducing sewage discharges and improving water quality. To celebrate, we're hosting a river cleanup event on the 27th of April where we'll continue our efforts to keep the River Dee and other waterways clean and safe.
We're thrilled to have MP Sam Dixon join us on this special day to present us with the Champion Club plaque. Although this event is for members only, we'd love to share our story with you and show how our efforts are making a difference in our community. π³π§
