What a lovely sunny morning for a game of football these morning.

The boys had a friendly match against our friends and neighbours from Saughall Colts Junior Football Club. The boys won 2-1 but to be honest the scoreline didn’t matter as both sets of kids played some great football and all played with smiles on their faces.

The kids were back in action today and we welcomed Tarvin to Blacon high school for an early morning kick off.

Both teams throughout the game went at it and it was end to end for the whole game.

Tarvin took the lead but Blacon equalised through a free kick goal scored by Jacob Andrews.

Tarvin got back in front through an unfortunate own goal but Blacon responded again through a really well finished goal by Mason Parry from a corner taken by Albie Edwards.

Blacon had quite a few chances to claim all three points but the Tarvin keeper made some good saves and also the wood work denied Blacon a goal.

Despite a 2-2 draw it was a result that suited Blacon more than Tarvin. Blacon remain 4 points ahead of Tarvin but with two games in hand.

On the back of our first defeat of the season last week the boys were looking to bounce back staright away.

With a new look formation and tactics the boys played a high intensity and high press game which the boys played brilliantly in, only for good saves and good defending did the score remain 0-0 at half time.

But the relentless press from the forward players paid off when we pressed high to win a corner and from that corner we took the lead through Jude Potts!

Then Albie Edwards completed the scoring deep into the game to secure the win for the boys and back to winning ways!

The whole of the club was rocked by the news last night that one of the hearts of the club and the Blacon community sadly passed away. Nicky Jones was, is and will remain a Blacon legend. And from all of us you will be missed dearly. Our thoughts go to your family and friends at this sad time! 💔

First game back for the boys after an extended break over Christmas and new year and unfortunately we fell to our first defeat of the season, and our first defeat since 24th August 2024!

Slow start for the kids meant we conceded early, but a well worked build up setup Jake who scored an absolute screamer to equalise. But again a lapse in concentration meant Bunbury got ahead again.

After that Blacon were the better team and created a hatful of chances but just couldn’t find the finish to equalise.

Disappointed to lose our first game of the season but so many positives to build on in what has been a brilliant season so far and we move on to next weeks game.

After not playing for few weeks it would have been understandable if there was a bit of rustiness to the boys performance. But that was not the case they came out from the first minute firing and deservedly got two goals early on through Jacob Andrews.

In the second half of the game Jake McDonough scored a brilliant individual goal with tricky footwork on the sideline to beat the defender and then from the angle curled the ball high past the keeper and into the top corner to make it 3-0.

The Jacob Andrews broke away down the right hand side and fired a cross into the box where Mason Parry was left unmarked and he scored to make it 4-0

Late in the game Casey Titley made a great save but there was nothing he could do about the follow up and the visitors got a consolation goal.

That’s it now until the new year for the boys! But what a season it has been so far for the boys.

This Saturday we make the trip to play Helsby.

Whenever we have played any of the Helsby teams it has always been a good contest and Saturday will be no different I’m sure.

We travelled to play Tarvin Athletic Whites this morning. And it was wet one! 🌧️

What a brilliant game by both teams. A game of few chances as both defences where solid and gave little away. So much so there was no goals until the last quarter of the game.

Tarvin scored with about 5 mins left of the game with a brilliant breakaway and their striker slotted home really well.

But our team, too use the Jurgen Klopp phase, are turning into “mentality monsters” even when they go behind they don’t believe they are beaten and they thought back and got an equaliser straight away from Jacob Andrews who just got in front of of the keeper to equalise.

Then with seconds left Alain punted a long ball forward which Archie Davies chased and from the tightest of angles slammed the ball home to hit the winner!

Tarvin’s players where fantastic and did not deserve the lose today. We wish them the best for the season and look forward to the reverse fixture later in the season.

Today we welcomed our friends from Newton Athletic to cairns crescent!

A fantastic match played by two sets of kids who played their hearts out and the game could have gone either way.

Malpas 3-3 Blacon Stripes

What a game that was. The lads were 3-0 down after 7 mins today. But how the responded was magnificent!

Mason Parry getting a goal back in the second quarter to start the comeback. Then in the third quarter Albie Edwards corners were causing problems for the Malpas defence and from one of them the ball fell to Jacob Andrews who smashed the ball home to get it back to 3-2.

A few minutes later another Albie Edwards corner ended up at Jacob Andrews’ feet again and he finished to make it 3-3 and the comeback was complete.

We had chances to win the game but the Malpas keeper pulled off so great saves to keep the teams level!

Proud of all the boys today, every single one of them stepped up and gave everything and they got what they deserved deserved today. 👏🏻👏🏻

The boys had the early kick off today at Cairns Crescent but they were at it from the get go.

Every player gave 100% and to get a clean sheet at this level is amazing.

Tarporley played really well and the caused us some issues but we restricted them to long range efforts which Casey in goal handles well.

Goals from Luis Gibson and Albie Edwards gave us the victory. Luis with a poachers finished after good work from Jacob got the ball across to him to finish. And Albie stepping in front of their striker and striding forward and unleashed a 25 yard thunderbolt past their keeper.

Great start to life in the higher division.
