Cholmondeley Castle Cancellation 2022🐴

After careful consideration and discussions with both British Eventing and Cholmondeley Estate with regards to membership levels, entry patterns and rising costs’, we have taken the sad decision to cancel both events due to be held at Cholmondeley Castle 30th – 31st of July and the Unaffiliated 6th – 7th August.

The weekend of the 30th/31st is a very busy weekend with a large number of events happening across the country. Considering this and the ongoing financial situation, we do not feel that the current entry levels will sustain that number of events and allow them all to run and be successful. We have tried to mitigate this clash of events by exploring different options, including looking at different dates and running in different formats. To date, none of which have been successful in their application, giving us very little option.

We are so grateful for your continued support, and we really are sorry that we have had to make this decision. We hope Cholmondeley Horse Trials will return to the calendar in 2023.

What a week at Badminton International Horse Trials 2022! 🥳

It was brilliant to see Badminton return and what a style to do so. We saw the very best of the best eventing action on all four days of competition. A massive Well Done to Laura Collett and London 52 on their win. It must be an incredible feeling to raise the Badminton trophy 🏆

It was great to see so many of the combinations at Badminton after their warm - up rounds at Burnham Market, many of them placing in the top 20, including:

• Oliver Townend and Swallow Springs, Oliver retained his Burnham Market crown winning both sections of the CCI 4* - S
• Piggy March and Vanir Kamira placed 6th in the CCI 4* - S, then went on to make the top 5 at Badminton.
• The youngest competitor on the field at Badminton, Alice Casburn and Topspin, placed in the top 15 in the CCI4* - S
• Kitty King and Vendredi Biats flew around Burnham Market, then went on to place 7th at Badminton.

• Oliver Townend and Ballaghmor Class
• Tim Price and Ringwood Sky Boy
• Felicity Collins and RSH Contend Or
• William Fox – Pitt with Oratorio II and Little Fire

What's on at the Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International Horse Trials?! 🏇
Here is a run down of what to expect ...
🐴Thursday 14th April
- CCI 3* and 4* Dressage
- The National classes will be competing all day in Dressage, Showjumping and Cross - Country!
🐴Friday 15th April
- More CCI3* and 4* Dressage throughout the day.
- The National sections competing in Dressage, Showjumping and Cross - Country!
🐴Saturday 16th April
- CCI3* and CCI4* Competitors will be taking to the main ring Show Jumping and Cross - County course for the final two phases of their competition.
As well as the 3 - days of eventing action there will also be:
🛍🛒A tradestand village with a variety of exhibitors selling everything from jackets to saddlery, tasty treats for people and pets, luxury footwear and much more!
🍩🍔There will be lots of delicious food vendors available to choose from, so do not worry if you forget your picnic.
🍺🥂 It is 5o'clock somewhere?! Why not enjoy a glass or two from the cash bar!
🐑The Wooly Warriors are also coming along to say hello, they have made a special trip down from the local farm.
🦅🐶The Falconry is back this year along with the terrier racing, bring your hound and see if you can beat them!
🎡🎢Grays Funfair is making a return, with funfair rides and candy floss!

🐶DOGS are allowed on site but they MUST be kept on leads at all times and cleaned up after.

Admissions tickets include parking. The only parking that requires a ticket is the Picnic Parking 😊

We are delighted to announce the dates of the 2022 Brigante Cup, now generously supported by Saracen Horse Feeds, leading supplier of premier horse feeds. We have a range of qualifier events at some of the best eventing venues across the north of England, with great prizes kindly provided by Saracen for the winners of every qualifier section across the series, together with some amazing grand final prizes – full details to be released shortly!
