This page is designed to allow members of the club, past and present, to share photos and videos, discuss club or kayaking related things and stay in contact.

The club offers all members of the school a chance to experience kayaking at a young age and develop their skills during their time at the school. The club is part of the Ely Scheme and is largely lead by pupils. The Club runs frequent trips to UK white water rivers, such as the Tees and Dee, and has the potential to develop paddlers to grade 3/4 ability. Every few years the clubs top paddlers are

Probably the Best University Alps Trip… in the World (Part 1) – Exeter University Canoe Club 01/09/2017

Calling anyone with an interest in alpine kayaking trips!

I wrote an article about the Exeter University Canoe Club summer trip to Europe and a "How To" on group trips to exciting and slightly unknown locations in a club-type atmosphere.

I won't spoil the content of the article but this is aimed at uni students, city clubs and mishmash groups of friends with varying abilities who have a shared love for kayaking.

Hope you enjoy it and if you do, please share as I want to try my hand at kayaking blogs and would like feedback.

Stayed tuned for part 2 coming Sunday.

Probably the Best University Alps Trip… in the World (Part 1) – Exeter University Canoe Club For those not acquainted with the University of Exeter, we have a saying that our university is “probably the best university in the world”, hence the title of this article. Alps 2014 04/08/2014

All the photos from the Kings The Kings School Ely Kayak Club's trip to the Durance region of the French Alps. David Brearley, Jack Miers, Matt Ley, Rhys Jones, led and supported by Paul Lott, Ben Smith and Ross Nicholas, paddled rivers such as the Durance, Guil, Ubaye and the Gyronde. Thanks a lot to the three instructors who made the trip possible for all their work and dedication over the years to the club that helped the lads progress as far as they have over the course of 4 years they have been paddling. A thank you has to go to Will King who was employed by the club to take the four paddlers down high difficulty whitewater. A special thank you to Peter Wallace who drove us all the way there and back from the French Alps (apart from a few hours where King Lotty took the reigns when we got back to England). A fitting end to the boys time at Kings' Ely and memories that they will hold close to their hearts and never forget.

For people still at Kings: Can you all please remember to come to the meeting in Mr Lott's classroom at break tomorrow. It is the decider for going to the alps this year or not. Please tell anyone else who hasn't like this page, but went to club last term, to come along as well.

Hi guys! Next Tuesday's river session will be the Christmas BBQ. I shall bring sausages, buns, some disposable bbq's and a few bottles of drink. If you can bring a pound towards it and anything else you would like that would be great. See you next week.

p.s. Please bring warm clothes (bear in mind that drysuits don't mix with bbq's too well).
