Chester Regatta a cooperative effort by all the Chester rowing clubs, GRC, RCRC, QPHSRC, KSCBC, REX & Uni of Chester. Run entirely by volunteers, including the umpires, our aim is to provide a fun, exciting regatta on the splendid river Dee, one of the very best rivers to row on. Free to spectators. This magnificent trophy - The Championship of The Dee Cup - was donated by the Duke of Westminster and others in 1892, and is presented (just to hold not have!) to the winner of the Open Single Sculls event at Chester Regatta, next on Saturday 6 June. We are Dee-lighted that The Chester Townhouse has sponsored the Championship of the Dee this year, and thank Steven Hesketh and all at SAVVY Collective for your support.

Chester Regatta is the in the world, dating from at least 1733. This annual rowing regatta next takes place on Saturday 6 June, with racing between 8:30am and 5:30pm. Hot & cold food and drink all day from the Regatta ground at Sandy Lane Park. Parking at Bishops High School, a short walk away, or get a free ferry across from the Meadows. Thank you to Lucy Liang and her company Award Ltd for sponsoring the Dee Challenge Cup at Chester Regatta this Saturday! It will be presented to the winners of the Open J15 Coxed Quadruple Sculls. Competing crews come from local clubs Grosvenor Rowing Club Chester, Royal Chester Rowing Club and The King's School Chester RC, plus scholarly scullers from the Grange School in Northwich. Prizes Giving will be attended by the High Sheriff of Cheshire Lynn Peglar DL, the Right Worshipful the The Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Margaret Parker and Lady Mayoress Deborah Parker-Stubbings. Chester Regatta is so grateful for the support of our sponsors, on which the Regatta depends as competitor fees do not cover all costs.

Edge Transport Ltd have sponsored the Queens' Coronation Cup at Chester Regatta, on Saturday 6 June and we couldn't be more Dee-lighted and grateful - thank you! This elegant trophy was presented in 1953 by John Lowe Esq to mark the occasion of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's coronation.

It will be presented (just to hold, not to keep!) to the winners of the Open J15 Single Sculls. These young scullers were all under 15 on 1 September, and some could be competing in their first competition. Local boys from Queens Park Chester Rowing Club and Royal Chester Rowing Club will compete boys from Trentham Boat Club Juniors and The Grange School Northwich - good luck everyone!

The Royal Buckley Town Band will be playing at lunchtime and Prize Giving will be attended by the High Sheriff of Cheshire, Lynn Peglar DL, the Right Worshipful The Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Margaret Parker and the Lady Mayoress Deborah Parker-Stubbings.

Racing from 8:30am to 5:30pm, hot and cold food served at the Regatta enclosure at Sandy Lane Park. No public parking at Sandy Lane, parking arrangements at Bishops High School and other are detailed on our website www.chesterregatta.org.

ChesterBoat has supported Chester Regatta, established 1733 for many years and this year is no exception. Brian and Raquel Clarke and the ChesterBoat team have sponsored the Heron Bridge Challenge Bowl, a beautiful trophy first presented in 1948. It will be presented to the winners of the Open Coxed Pairs, which will be hotly contest this year. No less than 7 crews have entered this event, including locals Grosvenor Rowing Club Chester and University of Chester Rowing Club plus University of Liverpool RC and 3 crews from Bangor UniversityRC. Chester Regatta would like to celebrate one of its most loyal sponsors, Meacher Jones Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, who have been sponsors at Chester Regatta for 19 years running! We sincerely thank David Meacher-Jones, Sue Meacher-Jones and all their family for their sponsorship of the Frost & Holland Challenge Cup. First presented at Chester Regatta in 1882, it is one of the finest trophies in our collection.

Chester Regatta is proud to have Gavin Floyd and his company DEESURVEYS Limited as sponsor of the Deva Challenge Cup this Saturday 6 June! This beautiful trophy, almost 70 years old (1957) will be presented to the winner of the WJ15 Single Sculls (Band 1). There have been so many WJ15 entrants in this category that we have had to split them into three bands to accommodate them all!

All of these scullers were under 15 years old on 1 September 2025. Some come from our Chester rowing clubs that coach young people, including Grosvenor Rowing Club Chester captained by David Peake, Royal Chester Rowing Club captained by Nick Cerulus and Queens Park Chester Rowing Club captained by the redoubtable Kayte Parlevliet. We also welcome entrants from The Grange School Northwich, Runcorn Rowing Club, Mersey Rowing Club and Trentham Boat Club Juniors.

For some, Chester Regatta will be their first competition. We thank Gavin Floyd and all his team at DEESURVEYS Limited for sponsoring this event at Chester Regatta this Saturday - it means a great deal to a lot of people.

On Saturday 6 June racing begins at 8:30am and finishes around 5:30pm. Hot and cold food served all day. A free ferry services operates between the Meadows and Sandy Lane. We're all looking forward to Chester Regatta on Saturday, even more so now that Deva Fest have given us TWO one-day passes to this fantastic festival as a prize to the Most Appreciated Coach at Chester Regatta 2026! Deva Fest have also kindly sponsored the Chester Northgate Brewery Cup, so we couldn't be more grateful to the organisers for supporting us (thanks to Phil and Issy Marston, Steve Hesketh and the whole team!)
