Our pleasure!
When I was Sheriff of Chester, it was a pleasure to join the Chester Critical Mass cycle ride one afternoon around the city and gain an insight into some of the challenges faced by cyclists locally. These challenges - particularly very poor road surfaces - are very much felt in my own ward too.
When my term of office concluded, I committed to once again becoming a bike owner and on Friday last week I duly went along to Bren Bikes in Chester - a brilliant place - to get kitted out. Being a lover of bright colours, I chose the orange one (inevitably) which I look forward to getting good use out of...and being easy to spot as I wobble around locally.
Thanks to the Chester Cycling Campaign for encouraging me to get back on a bike!

Its National volunteer week this week, so here’s a quick post to remind everyone how lucky we are, to have such an amazing and talented team of volunteers with us at Bren Bikes.
We have a team of 14 volunteers, from all walks of life. Some are ex beneficiaries, scientists, skilled technicians, social work backgrounds, accountants…..
All bring their own unique and amazing set of skills to us at Bren bikes.
In total, they have accumulated almost 30,000 hours of volunteering, since the workshop first opened.
With some of those original volunteers, still working with us today.
Here’s a few memories and pics of the team.
From us all at the Bren project, thankyou so so much.
