What a difference a day can make! 😲👏

A massive thank you to everyone who attended and helped clear the duckw**d from Pond 3 at the weekend. The effort put in by everybody was absolutely incredible, and the difference made in just one day is unbelievable! 💪🌿

We would also like to say a massive thank you to Aquaculture for supplying us with their Aquatic W**d Boom and w**d shovels. These will be a huge investment for Williamthorpe Angling Club and will hopefully help us tackle future w**d problems much more effectively. 👏🎣

We also have some exciting news for the school holidays! 🎣👦👧

During the second week of August, we are allowing juniors to fish Pond 3 for FREE! 🙌

Juniors must be accompanied by an adult.

This is an excellent opportunity for any youngsters who have never fished before or are curious about fishing our waters to come along and have a go! 🎣

So why not get yourself down and give it a try — you never know, you might just find a new hobby! 👏

Hi everyone,

We’ve recently purchased some new equipment to help with the removal of duckw**d on Pond 3. Over the past few evenings, Big Duff, Rob, Carl and Phil, along with a few other volunteers, have been putting the aquatic w**d booms, boat and w**d shovels through their paces—and we’re really pleased to say they work extremely well!

We’ve already removed a huge volume of duckw**d, even though it was up to 6 inches thick in places. With a few extra pairs of hands, we’re confident we can get the pond cleared in a good working session.

We’re planning a work party on Sunday 12th July from 9:00am. If you can spare a little time—even just an hour—it would make a massive difference. Whether you’re happy to help pull ropes, rake or shovel the w**d, every bit of help is greatly appreciated.

If you have waders, a garden rake, landscaping rake or a shovel, please bring them along if you can. This is a mammoth task, and the more tools and volunteers we have, the quicker and easier it will be.

Please meet Rob in the car park at 8:45am if you can, where he’ll run through the plan for the morning and allocate jobs. If you can’t make it for 8:45, don’t worry—just come along whenever you can. Any time you can spare will be a huge help. We really need the numbers, and many hands really do make light work.

Our aim is simple: to get Pond 3 fishable again as quickly as possible, and with everyone’s support we can make that happen.

There’s no need to reply to this post—just turn up if you’re able.

Once again, thank you all for your continued support. It really is appreciated, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Sunday. Let’s get Pond 3 back to its best!

🎣 Permit Renewal Reminder 🎣

Hi all,

Just a reminder that any member who hasn’t renewed their permit yet only has a few days left to do so. After that, your membership will revert to new member status, and you’ll be subject to the £10 new member fee.

Also, if you haven’t renewed and are still fishing, please be aware that your previous membership permit has now expired. You’ll need to purchase a day ticket, which is available from one of the bailiffs on the bank.

Please renew as soon as possible to avoid any extra charges.
