Barragan Boxercise

We’ve been a bit quiet on our social media over the last few weeks while we focus on the last few classes of the academic year and begin to plan some exciting things! 💥

Here’s a quick update:

All of our children’s and adult classes are still running as usual but please check via the website in our bio when the last date is for any school boxercise classes as some have already finished for this academic year🤝

Our school boxercise sessions are in their last couple of weeks now so we will be running our last few boxercise classes as ‘games sessions’ as a treat to the kids for all their hard work, not just this term but throughout the school year🏆

Adult boxercise classes will continue to run throughout the summer so make sure to come and join us at the Arena Sports Centre in Bognor Regis! 🥊

I’m excited to be back to boxercise this week after a nice break, I hope you’ve all enjoyed your time off🤞🏻

We are straight back to it this week, kids classes are back on as normal at Jessie Younghusband, North Mundham, and Rumboldswhyke primary schools! Remember these can be booked online (https://www.mbboxercise.com/book-a-class)!

I’m also excited to share we will be starting a new after school club at Bishop Luffa School starting a week today (Monday 13th June) with sessions running every Monday until the end of term📅

A short but tough ending to one of our adult classes😰

Here’s a press up and sit up challenge which these guys are making light work of 🏆

This partners challenge requires good core and upper body strength to complete - both of which are important components of boxing that we aim to work on in our sessions💪🏻

We’re just getting warmed up🤑

I like to start off each pad work section with some short, simple but effective combinations to get us in the rhythm of throwing those hands🥊

We usually start off with 2 punch combinations mainly using straight shots and by the end we’re throwing up to 6 punch combinations with some defensive work in there too🧩

Great work as always from those involved, looking forward to our class tonight 6:45-7:30❤️

After a couple of weeks off for half term we’re back to our school boxercise classes🥳

I always enjoy working with the children and watching them improve as the terms go by… It had been a while since we had a boxercise class at a school so it was inevitable I was going to be challenged to some sort of game🎲

In case you couldn’t tell, our young champ in year 4 was very excited to go up against the coach and all technique went out the window🤣

Plank trains? Not a problem for this bunch🤝🚂

Requiring some core strength and a bit of cardio, plank trains are a great exercise when you’re working out in partners or groups👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Taking it in turns each person runs to the end of the hall and comes back to get into the plank position to make a new carriage closer to the finish line. While the next person goes, remaining team members hold their plank until their runner returns🏃🏻

Make it harder by having a big group involved or increase the running distance👀

A warm up you can use for any sport✍🏻

Here’s a clip of one of our recent warm ups which involves skipping or 3 cardio exercises lasting 20s each - the exercises in this video are:

•High knees with arm pulls
•Side to side floor touches
•Star jumps

The total exercise time is one minute with a 30s rest and that completes round 1✅
