It is with great sadness that we share with you all the passing of one of our Alumni, Alex Langham.

Langham, as he is fondly known, was involved with the club between 2014-2017 as a player and assistant on game days.

After a tragic accident at his home in Suffolk Alex passed away this morning at 7am.

Langham was always the life and soul of any event, bringing sunshine into the lives of all he came in contact with. Whether it was his special team heroics, his devilish laugh or belting out Anastasia, you always had a great time when Langham was around. As well as this, he is an incredible human being who had the biggest of hearts and smiles. Always dependable if called upon and an all around fantastic young man.

Taken too early from us at the age of 28, all of us at the spitfires send out love to Tony, Clare, Theo, all family and friends of Alex in this tough time.

Rest easy Langham, once a spitfire always a spitfire ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

Short but sweet video after this week's game, and our first away game, against the Oxford Lancers. We didn't walk away with a W but we did get a fantastic touchdown so it's time to rest up until our next game, at HOME, at the end of the month - see you there ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

A massive thank you to everyone who came down to support us today. It means an incredible amount to see so many friends, family, alumni and students on the sidelines of our games.

Thank you to Kingston for a competitive and well fought game. Good luck for the rest of your season.

Not the result we wanted today but we bounce back and look forward to Oxford next weekend.

Finally, a massive thank you to Julie and Tim Musk for coming down and bringing Willโ€™s jersey. It was a privilege to honour Will today and we hope we did yourselves and him proud.

Once a spitfire always a spitfire!

News alert

Former Club Captain and passing record holder Tom Read has been invited to join the GB Womenโ€™s coaching roster as QB coach.

Tom was a spitfire 2014-16 featuring for the club at safety and wide receiver but starring at QB where he holds records for single game and season yards and TDs.

Tomโ€™s highlights at the club include a 6 TD display vs BNU and leading the club in a historic 20-7 comeback to defeat Southampton Stags to help the club to its first ever win.

We wish Tom all the best in his new role and know heโ€™ll do great.

Today marks one year since we lost our brother Will. Will was able incredible young man, student, team-mate, brother and son who will remain in our memories forever.
We would like to take this moment to send our love and thoughts to the Musk family whom we have also grown to love as part of our spitfires family.
Once a spitfire always a spitfire.

Today we honoured our teammate Will. We sadly lost Will last August in a motorcycle accident.

The team and Willโ€™s parents have set up an award in his honour. Today we announced our first winner.

Thank you to the Musk family for showing us incredible strength in a tough time as well as sending us this beautiful message.
Will would be so proud of you and all the things you are doing to show us light, happiness and love.

Congratulations to Mia Hennessey who won the award for being an outstanding student, teammate and friend.

Once a spitfire always a spitfire.
