We may not have made it to Red Dragon Festival of Endurance but we did have our first visit to the Badminton Fun ride. You’ve never seen anything like it 🤦‍♀️. Hundred of horses starting at intervals ALL day. I had an early slot and had a relatively calm ride (with the obligatory buck of course!), we overtook lots of riders who were walking and hardly got overtaken which makes a change. She was an absolute star and wasn’t phased by horses everywhere coming back along The Avenue. I’m definitely pleased I’ve waited until this year to do this ride as we’re a partnership now and she is used to other horses after several years of endurance rides. Baileys had their weighbridge and I was pleasantly surprised at her weight considering she’s in very light work at the moment (weight includes saddle). A good ride which has kick started a winter of working on her strength and fitness before getting back on the Endurance road next year ❤️

A very atmospheric morning - no need to go all the way to Wales and the Red Dragon ride to see inverted cloud!!! Not the most energetic of rides so I cut it short and did some pole work at home - that woke her up and she worked really well. The other two meanwhile were very calm being left behind. We’ll probably give the polo mare several months off and bring her back into work slowly. She’s the sweetest person and hasn’t put a foot wrong in the week we’ve had her. As she shows typical signs of wear and tear we will be letting her recuperate before starting with long and low groundwork. And the little minx of a filly is the star pupil apparently - more so when I’m not around to wind her up!!! What’s nicer than having 3 lovely mares all with very different characters in my field?!

I chose a lovely morning to get back in the saddle after 2 weeks off. Next stop Badminton!!!!

A soggy ride this morning made a refreshing change from the wall to wall sunshine we’ve been having. Baby pony was with us for a little while then decided working in the rain was a step too far for her. Dazzle and I took her home and set off out again - good practice for a vet gate!!!! Dazzle felt very well and enjoying the cooler fresher weather - the fields less so where Lyra danced around while we were out, they now resemble a mud bath 🤦‍♀️
