🌟Road Closures: Sunday 13th September 🌟
For the Chippenham Half Marathon 2026

Bristol Road (A420) Closed 9:00 -10:15
Hill Corner Road Closed 10:15 - 13:00
Malmesbury Road Closed 10:20 - 13:00

Stanley Lane, East Tytherton, Tytherton Lucas, Langley Burrell will remain open to traffic.
Drivers are asked to avoid these areas between
🌟10am and 12midday 🌟 where possible.

Runners will be crossing Swindon Road (B4069) where Hill Corner Road joins it from
🌟 10:15am until 12.30pm. 🌟
Traffic will be asked to wait until there is a safe gap in the runners crossing the road before proceeding.

Thankyou once again to all who volunteered last night and through out the whole series of events.
In particular I haven't mentioned that we borrowed 2 GoPros for the final without which the results would have been impossible to collate! Thankyou Mike and Martin.

So, the results ... They are ordered for these picutres by finish position which is also by the improvement (or lack of!) over your best heat time.
The people in blue, Jon Hicks and John Straiton, each ran 1 second either side of their best time!
This means everyone crossing the line in front of them improved, and everyone behind didn't.

Given the extreme weather we had in the heats this year, a great many people finished ahead of the handicap time.
Removing the first and the last times, everyone finished within 3mins 13secs of each other.

Wow, Congratulations to each of the 116 runners taking part in the Lacock Relays Handicap Final this evening.

What a super fun night it has been 🥳
The moment when the masses crossed the line was as manic as ever. Was anyone standing at the new roundabout to see the competitors reach that point? It must have been crazy there!

The results will be started tomorrow morning and continued I suspect, later as the video footage will be scoured to catch everyone.

Here is the long list of our runners who have qualified to run in the Lacock Relays Handicap Final on August 25th 📣

You don't need to remember your time or position, but you can study it as much as you like!

In the final, all the competitors register - still £2 cash - and are allocated a bib number. A number this time, not a letter.
After the briefing, we have everyone lined up on the high street with our slowest runner at the front and the fastest at the back.

One by one you are set off at the incremental time difference to the person in front of you.
One by one you aim to catch the person in front of you and see if you can hold off the person behind you.

As you near the new mini roundabout and turn onto the high street you will become increasingly aware of just how many people are out running this evening as all the runners converge in a mass surge to the finish line.

There will be prizes for the first 10 to cross the line - if you can beat the time you ran in the heats you are in with a shot!

Well done to all who took part in the Lacock Relays Heat 3 this evening 🎉

With this being the final heat before the Lacock Relays Handicap Final on August 25th we had some familiar faces joining us.
Of course it was equally fun to have so many new people finding us for the first time 🥳

The results will be sorted tomorrow morning.
