A quick reminder that entries for the Wychwood Tennis Club Championships close this week. If you intend to compete, please submit your entry as soon as possible so the draw can be finalised and the competition can commence.

🎉WINNER!🎉

A huge congratulations to Evan on winning the Wychwoods Tennis Club Junior of the Year award at our AGM, presented by Ian Drainer, for his commitment to the club and tennis. A well-deserved win, albeit a complete surprise to him! Evan plays lots of league matches and at 8 years old, came third overall in the U8's Tennis festival, and even plays for the U9's, helping them get the runner's up!

Well done Evan, you are showing us all what hard work, dedication and persistence looks like and it hasn't gone unnoticed. You are an asset to our club and we look forward to watching your tennis journey ahead. Also a shout out to our coach Faith Heron, who helps young people build their confidence on court and whose life passion is to get as many people enjoying tennis as she can.

It is the long-awaited half-term, and getting the kids out in the rain can be a challenge! One way to get through this wet start to the year, is to embrace it!

Next week is looking clearer for our brilliant holiday camps, which are running all week, so make the most of the holidays by booking onto one (or all) of the days. Run by our dedicated coach Faith heron and her brilliant team of coaches, what a brilliant way for the kids to get some fresh air and some socialising.

What a fantastic Australian Open Men's Final, only made better by watching it together. The fantastic team at The Wychwood Inn prepared the night before, setting up the tables and chairs, the screen and the hot drinks stand, ready for our early start. We all bustled in, half awake, ready to watch Alcaraz and Djokovic battle it out on that famous blue court Downunder!

Soon into the first set, we had our delicious breakfast butties with tea and coffee, and a mere four hours later, we sat with bated breath as the two legends tested each other in every way, both clearly fighting with everything they had to win that trophy.

Alcaraz walked away triumphant, but the real winners were sat in the pub on a Sunday morning, being part of a wonderful community, with a shared love for the sport of tennis. How lucky we are! 💚

The competition is ramping up over at the Australian Open 2026! Please join us to watch the thrilling Men's final on the 1st February at 8.30am at the Wychwood Inn, Shipton-Under-Wychwood. As a valued member, have a breakfast buttie and hot drink on us!

What a wonderful year 2025 has been! We have had lots of fun at our social events, mix-ins and competitions, including our U8's team who played and won the red ball competition against not one but THREE different teams! A huge congratulations to Evan, Alfie and Louis, what a great achievement to end the year with, we cannot wait to see what this coming year holds for you.

We would like to thank our wonderful members for your efforts, personalities and love for tennis; you make our club incredibly special and wholesome. Thank you to our incredible coach Faith, who is out in all weathers ensuring everyone has the opportunity to learn, whilst imparting her knowledge and passion for the sport.
