I have spent a lot of time studying yoga - 25 years now!!
I've had wonderful teachers. I've been lucky enough to learn from people whose knowledge I deeply respect.
But there is one thing your teacher can never know better than you:
What it feels like to live in your body - and that's everything
I want my students to know when to explore and when to back off.
I want them to become curious about their own practice rather than dependent on me to tell them what their body is saying.
That's not me throwing tradition out of the window.
Quite the opposite.
I think you need to know the tradition really well before you can start making intelligent decisions about how it can work for an individual.
That's how I teach.
And that's how I practise.
If this is the kind of yoga teaching you've been looking for, stick around.
