Thank you to The Saltwater Sauna for giving a sauna prize at the Bluetits Cold Water Party. Tiff who was the lucky winner kindly shared her prize with the Alum Chine Crew (it was also Sue’s birthday hence the special Bluetit cupcakes!)
It was also a lovely way for Sally and I to have our last flock swim before we head to Dover on Friday (eeek)

Yesterday was a good day on the water for three of the team (missed you Estelle Bentall-Lynch and Sally Edwards). Another boat day meant more chances to practise the swim start, work on overtakes, and get comfortable with deep water, ferry wash and the chop that makes the Channel such a unique challenge.
Now we’re just four days away from our window opening. Excitement and trepidation are building, but we’re ready. Time to embrace the whole experience — including the famous Dovercoaster.
The only question left: will the sea let us swim?

Thank you to Paul and Seb Flavell for looking after us. Thank you to Tracey Blake for keeping us smiling - we particularly liked our SBS exit from the boat 🚤 🤣🤣

Soooo today I found my mo jo ….its been a long time since I posted as I have really been struggling with lots of stuff but also any kind of belief in myself ..people can tell you until they are blue in the face lovely positive things but if you are not in a headspace where you can take that on board it just doesn’t stick. Our journey to the last Dover training weekend was spent with me in tears the whole way feeling absolutely nothing and allowing so much negativity into my head…luckily 2 trustee team members/driver en-route and the others during the weekend were bloody amazing and supportive and importantly understood. I thought I was going that weekend to tell Makala I was not mentally strong enough to do this but a tiny voice said just see how it goes. I didn’t think I could do what was going to be asked of me in the pool session and went through the motions. The boat on the other hand was a different matter …I BLOODY LOVED IT ! I wasn’t seasick (that time, could change I realise!) and I didn’t mind the deep water so I just swam and on the plus side we saw no ‘creatures’ !!!
I think that was a bit of a turning point as I thought of nothing else whilst on that boat, not the usual crap and constant worry in my head just pure enjoyment being with the team and outside feeling alive again. At the pool session the next day Makala commented that I was swimming like a different person ..that was obviously a massive boost…not sure she realised how much I needed that ! Thoughts then turned to going back to Dorset and feeling overwhelmed again…but with lots of support and the decision to take time out of work for a period I started to feel a bit more like myself again more days of each week with less numb ones but with injuries niggling giving me those constant feelings of doubt and that would I be the weak link who would mean we might not succeed I have still been finding it tough. Today though I ENJOYED my swim for the first time in ages 🙌..lightbulb💡moment ! Faced seagrass demons, saw a few ‘creatures’ but ultimately came out bloody buzzing …nothing like that feeling returning a bit close to the wire and still need to work on positivity but guys I’m actually getting EXCITED and this team is just an amazing bunch of humans all with their own ‘stuff’ going on but all willing each other success!!!
Thanks for all your support everyone who has joined this journey with in any way if you read this to the end ..bit of a novel but something I wanted to share 💙💛❤️
If you can donate that would be amazing but so would sharing our posts

⭐️ 9 SLEEPS TO GO ⭐️
The team met up for our last get together before Dover at the beautiful Lulworth Cove. We had a very casual swim and there was a few shrieks from the seaweed encounters - thankfully no seal today just lots of sea lice!

Good luck this weekend, Bluetits 3 Channel Swim Relay Team 2026 (aka Milton Keynes Team). The circumstances may be a little challenging, but you’re giving it your best shot, and that’s what matters. Swim with determination, enjoy every stroke, and leave everything out there. Whatever the conditions bring, may you swim your heart out, embrace the adventure, and come ashore with plenty to be proud of. Wishing you calm seas, strong arms, and the very best of luck — we’ll all be cheering you on! What a journey you are on ❤️💛💙
Sending much love from Bluetits4 ❤️❤️❤️

We wanted to clear up a little confusion.
Bluetit 4 (our team) will be heading down to Dover on 19 June for our swim window, and we’ll be keeping everything crossed for a favourable weather forecast and the chance to swim.
The recent post referred to Bluetit 3 (the Milton Keynes team), who have unfortunately been told that there won’t be a safe weather window for their swim.
So, for us, it’s TWO WEEKS TO GO!
