Long Mynd Archers

Long Mynd Archers is a friendly and welcoming archery club situated in Church Stretton, Shropshire Tom & Sue Willamson were amongst this group.

Long Mynd Archers was founded in 1978 by a nucleus of member from the Bishops’ Castle Archery Club, which closed the same year. Tom heads our coaching team and Sue is the club secretary. Long Mynd Archers is one of the biggest clubs in the UK and one of the first to be Club Mark accredited. Long Mynd Archers is also part of the Shropshire Archery Society. LMA at home today
Hosted the SAS outdoor championships 11 targets out and a good shoot had by everyone
Thanks to all.SAS archers that attended and to all.LMA members that helped make it a successful day. Same again.next year

Productive day for the maintenance team yesterday
3 target stands made and a start on renovating the containers

LMA on tour went down to Archers of Teme Heritage yesterday that was also the last in the series for this summer.
For the afternoon event LMA gained 3 gold
As it was the last Heritage the overall awards were made along with the County Novice
Overall 1 gold 1 silver and 2 bronze
Novice junior trophy
A good season for all members of LMA on tour

1300 round (Alison's round)
35 arrows at 30m 30 arrows at 40m double your score. Face size depends on your classification. As it is intended to be fun no sighters 😱
Good time had by all and to round the afternoon off tea and cake.☕🎂

LMA on tour were at Audco.Heritage which includes the SAS handicap championships. Seven entered with four medalling. Congratulations to you all. 👏
Last leg of the Hetitage series for 2026 is at Archers of Teme Sunday 6th September see what success LMA on tour can achieve there.

10-12 at our field at New House Farm
All equipment provided no need to book £15 per person per hour

LMA on tour were very successful at Croesoswallt Heritage yesterday a nice haul of medals of various colours.

Last Thursday 3 of our members went to Field House residential home with our Soft Archery kit for the residents to have a go at shooting some arrows
They also had the opportunity to see an.Olympic torch from 2012 a Bronze Olympic medal and 2 Silver Commonwealth medals
Glad to say they thoroughly enjoyed themselves

Plenty of interest for beginners one rejoining after time away from.the sport
