Good start to the season for Lucy Brown on her 2 pointers she keeps with us at home.
Bastien ran a solid race in the veterans to be 4th, Lucy have him a great ride jumping for fun. He looks so much happier than last season & 🤞he keeps enjoying himself for the rest of the season. Rufio, was a little more challenging!…..Lucy had a tricky Job of keeping him sane down at the start but he had a good first run to finish 5th in the maiden & they will both have learnt lots together for next time.

It’s been a bit of a long time ambition of Pete’s to ride a winner against the pros…. & today box ticked ✅ Wick Green jumped his way to the win 🥇 with a great ride from Pete & we are delighted for his owners; The Shy John partnership. It’s a team effort but Thank you to Lucy who had him looking great today in the paddock & Dee for holding the fort at home. What a fun horse he is & a little bit naughty!

Over the moon to sell our first store today for the above average price of £37k. He has been a pleasure to own from foal to 3yr old & he looked a picture today. We can’t wait to see him progress at Ben Pauling Racing.

We are very lucky to have brilliant people around us & working for us in the yard. But a special mention must go to Lucy Brown who has been with us full time since September. I have never met a more hard working & dedicated girl who puts everything into her work, riding & care for the horses. We all know it’s been a difficult & stop start season but the last 2 weekends have finally given her the chance to have a ride on her 2 horses PITHIVIER & BASTIEN. Both of them finishing 6th in competitive races, if only it was the start of the season but that’s just been the way it is in covid times! Lucy’s riding & confidence has hugely improved & we can’t wait to see things keep progressing for her, roll on next season.

We take many photos throughout the season but this is one of my faves! Us girls always worry about what we look like but this season it’s all been about ‘the mask’! Sally, myself & the most lovely kind mare that is Betty (Frilly Frock) enjoyed our girls day out at Huntingdon together even if we were all masked up!!

Really pleased for owner Norman Thomas who over the years has been unbelievably good to us. Things haven’t quite gone to plan this season for his horses for one reason or another but in the last 24 hrs it’s been 2 good results........FRANK & HONEST ran a blinder to be 3rd yesterday at Edgcote P2P & tonight
FULL TROTTLE was gallant at the old age of 12 to be 2nd in a handicap chase at Kempton with another good ride from Alex Thorne. It’s hard to get winners but these 2 gave their all & that’s all you can ask for. Thank you Norman & Weldone team Mason

Delighted to see WICK GREEN back to his old self & with Pete back on board. They have clearly missed each other!! 💙 His excellent display of jumping sealed the win & a big Thank you to his owners ‘The Shy John Partnership’ who have patiently waited to see him back to best.

Really pleased with THE EMINENT GOOSE yesterday at a sunny Maisemore.
First time out for this lovely 5yr old mare in what was a competitive maiden with some smart types that will be sure to fetch some money! She ran really well to finish a good 3rd, she was green coming out of the back straight but ran on & stayed well. Her jumping was exceptional, definitely not seen Pete enjoy a round of jumping as much as that!

That’s what you call a flyer at the last! Alex & Sam getting the job done in style!

The Ups & Downs of racing.....Happy to report that Norman Thomas’s FULL TROTTLE & Alex Thorne all walked away fine from their nasty tumble yesterday at Fontwell. It’s never nice to see & all you want is for horse & jockey to be ok! Harry obviously forgot to tell Full Trottle not to fall over when they had their pre race face time chat!!
