This cluster is a typical roadster where the cluster fascia degrades due to sun damage and starts to crack and flake. This one was in for a new display and to fit a customer supplied replacement fascia from Draw Bespoke UK plus the usual re-soldering all the common dry joints and clean.
This cluster had also been repaired in the past as you can see in the pictures it was a mess. All repaired and cleaned an after looking miles better.

You know it may be a bad one when your customer packs a toilet roll with the cluster. Cluster reported faults were fuel and temp gauge not working, nothing on main display at all and missing warning lights.
After taking it apart warning lights had been glued over, we had to destroy the white plastic part to remove it from the PCB. The display wasn’t working because the ribbon cable had been cut. The speaker was also missing.
Replaced both temp and fuel gauge motors, replaced the white plastic part, fitted new display, fitted new speaker and mount and re-soldered all the common dry joints .

A MK1 TT roadster cluster in for fuel gauge fault , also replaced the fascia as sun light cracks it so it left looking lots better and with a working fuel gauge.

Sorry I have not posted for a while, with the Christmas offer making us busy and also busy sorting out other stuff I’ve just not had the time.

This TT MK1 cluster had a really bad display, also the ABS led had been removed and replaced with a red led with wires coming out the back of the cluster to bullet connectors. Replaced the display and removed the ABS bodge, replaced the ABS and traction led on the PCB , fitted new fuel gauge and temp gauge motors and off course the LCD. Now back to working as it should and looking loads better.
