The rowing boat doesn't like rushing and moving around to be fast. Connecting to the movement of the boat is very important to be still and rhythmical when rowing. #rowing #sculling

Back on form - Many of you will have seen the girl’s speed drop for a day or so. Essentially, the weather got too much for them for a while, and they hit exhaustion levels, and took the decision to take shelter for a cramped night in the cabins. - That’s was a tough decision to take, but the severity of the weather sadly became evident yesterday, with the necessary rescue of @fightoardie after their boat fair led to right after a capsize. Most importantly, the crew are all fine. As are the multiple other crews who have capsized over the past few days. - The girls have ultimately done well to remain safe, upright, and motivated. Their speed are back up to where they should be, and rowing hard. Good luck to these amazing and inspirational ladies, who on Mon 12th December 2022 start the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.

In their boat ("Catch of the day"), they will be rowing more than 3000 miles west from San Sebastian in La Gomera, Canary Islands to Nelson’s Dockyard English Harbour, Antigua & Barbuda.

To be as "carbon neutral" as possible, they cycled all 688 miles to the start line, which is a fantastic achievement on its own 🚴‍♂️👏

*** Fri 15th to Sun 17th July 2022 ***

This weekend (Fri 15th to Sun 17th July) is the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at Fairford, which is a short distance from the lake.

Traffic volume in the area is likely to be MUCH heavier than normal, with some roads closed and restrictions in place.

Therefore, please plan your journeys accordingly, allowing enough time for your journey to and from the lake, taking into consideration the heavier traffic and the road closures/restrictions.
