That's the September shoot over at the club.
The rain stayed away rightly but the wind was very strong all day and made the birds a lot more challenging than they were intended to be. It would safe to say that this turned out to be the hardest shoot that we've had in quite some time.
The wind actually strengthened throughout the day and this evening the targets were at their most difficult.
This didn't stop some decent scores being posted.
L. McSparron x 2 and J. Baird had 39
L. Selfridge, P. Loughery and H. Simms had 41
But the highest scores today were E. Stewart and R. Browne with 42, W. Temple with 43 but the highest score today was a chap visiting for the first time and shot a brilliant 47. Jack, that is all we have on the scorecard for you and unfortunately you had already left before I got your surname. Brilliant shooting sir on such a tricky day.
Even on such a bad day, it was great to see a new Personal Best from one of our up and coming members. A. Craig shot a very respectable 32. Great shooting Andrew! πππ
Thanks to everyone who attended today including those visiting for the very first time. We even had a chap who was visiting family from Glasgow and decided to call up for a shot. It was great meeting you Chris and we hope you enjoy the rest of your visit. Equally, thanks to those closer to home for calling up too. Everyone is welcome back and the weather doesn't be as bad as that ALL of the time on Straid Hill. π
Thanks, as always, to those who helped setting up the shoot, keeping the shoot running and to those who stayed on to help with clearing up again.
Thanks, again, for the sandwiches and scone bread too.
A good days shooting despite the weather and here's hoping for calmer conditions for our next shoot which takes place on 17th October.
Thanks everyone!
