🎓⚽ OUR FIRST-YEAR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS! ⚽🎓

Our first-year university students enjoyed a fantastic first week with us last week, getting stuck straight into their studies at Grimsby Town Foundation.

A big focus of the week was leadership behaviours and values — exploring what makes an effective leader and, importantly, encouraging our students to think about what kind of leader they want to become.

They looked at how their own values, behaviours and leadership styles can influence the way they coach, communicate and support others, and how these qualities can shape their future aspirations and careers within football, sport and the wider community. ⚽📚

💻 They also had the opportunity to take part in a webinar introducing Sports Session Planner, a fantastic free coaching session-planning tool that they can use throughout their time at university for their session designs, planning and coaching needs.

It's genuinely one of the best tools out there for coaches looking to plan and develop their sessions — and no, we don't get paid to say that! 😂

Our degree programme is about much more than sitting in a classroom. Through our partnership with the University of South Wales and EFL in the Community, students combine academic learning with practical coaching and work-based experience, while gaining access to tools and opportunities that can support their development as coaches and future professionals.

🎓⚽ WELCOME TO OUR NEW UNIVERSITY STUDENTS! ⚽🎓

We’re delighted to introduce some of our new first-year University students, who have officially started their degree journey with us at Grimsby Town Foundation! 👏

Last week, our new students travelled to the University of South Wales for their induction, where they had the opportunity to experience the University environment, meet the staff who will be supporting them throughout their studies, and meet representatives from the EFL in the Community.

Now back at Blundell Park, they’re ready to get stuck into the programme! 💪📚⚽

Throughout their studies, our students will combine their academic learning with valuable practical and work-based experience within a professional football club environment, helping them develop their knowledge, coaching experience and employability.

We’re really looking forward to seeing how our new first years progress over the coming months!

September is here, which means our brand-new Grimsby Town Foundation Girls’ Advanced Development Centre (ADC) is almost ready to get underway!

The response so far has been fantastic, with places being snapped up across the programme.

🚨 Our U12 age group is already SOLD OUT! 🚨

Availability in several of our other age groups is also becoming very limited, so we would encourage anyone considering joining us to secure their place as soon as possible.

Open to talented and ambitious female players from U9–U16, our ADC provides an opportunity to access additional high-quality coaching and player development while remaining with and continuing to represent their grassroots club.

Players will benefit from high-quality additional coaching, technical and tactical development, individual player development and opportunities to build their confidence, all while becoming part of the Grimsby Town Foundation Female Player Pathway. ⚽️📈🧠💪🖤🤍

A really important part of the programme is that the ADC complements grassroots football rather than replacing it. We want players to continue enjoying their football with their grassroots teams while also challenging themselves within an additional development environment at Grimsby Town Foundation.
