Does more light really make us safer?

It’s an assumption people often make but the relationship between lighting and safety isn’t quite that simple.

We came across an article by DarkSky Texas which looks at the evidence behind the idea that more light means less crime and greater safety. It’s a topic we explored in our own article a while ago too.

The answer isn’t about having more light, but about using light effectively - reducing glare, improving visibility and illuminating only where it’s needed.

A great example of the motion sensor dimming functionality of Solareye Bollard Lights.
