A recently completed 109sq.ft. gaff mainsail for a Chesapeake Light Craft 'Pocketship' which are now being made by Fyne Boat Kits in Cumbria. The sail was made in our Classic Dinghy Range from Contender 5.38 Light Tan sailcloth.

My thanks to Michael in the USA for sending us this photo of the lightweight 'drifter sail' that we made for his Drascombe Lugger . Set on a bowsprit, and using a continous furler, he can easily set the sail when conditions are favourable, much better than starting the outboard.

A recently completed 62sq.ft. standing lugsail for a Cheasapeake Light Craft Skerrie. Made in our Classic Dinghy Range from Dimension-Polyant 200gram sailcloth. Although these boats are popular in North America, they are now beginning to be built in the UK

This was the second zip, fitted to this Stack-a-Pack sail cover, that had failed through UV exposure, as both times it had been constructed as an 'open zip' Although it took a little more time and care, we replaced it as a 'concealed zip' where it is protected from the damaging sunshine.

Many older sailors are downsizing as they get older. This 42sq.ft. standing lugsail, made in our Classic Dinghy Range, was made for a customer in Canada, who is modifying an eight foot dinghy - dispatched by UPS on Wednesday and scheduled to be delivered on Monday to British Columbia

This was the last Drascombe/Churchouse Drifter 22 built, and imported into the USA in 2022, since when it has been kept unused in storage. Earlier this week it was sold on an on-line auction for $30,000 ( Approx. £21,500) a fraction of its original price - someone got a bargain !

This 20' 0" boat is a replica of a 1800's workboat originally built by a lighthouse keeper on Canada's east coast. The boat was built by the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, in Halifax Nova Scotia. Although it can be rigged in a number of different ways, it sails best as a ketch. In breezy weather, four crew are advised, otherwise two or three are ideal. My thanks to Phil Osbourne who runs Dragon Drascombe holidays in Greece for this photo. It is one of his Drascombe Luggers, anchored off the beach while the holiday-makers enjoy a walk to the nearest taverna. Similar to many of his Luggers, to cope with the light winds, they have a full 'racing rig' - Genoa, Batten Roached Main and Batten Roached Mizzen
