We are an active and friendly club with about 70 members from the Ribble Valley and beyond who enjoy a variety of activities including hillwalking, mountaineering and climbing.

Several CMC members enjoyed a long weekend in Wasdale climbing Scafel, Great Gable, Pillar, Red Pike, Scoat Fell, Scafel via Piers Gill, Burnmoor.

Sunday 31st May we set off from Troutbeck Church we conquered Yoke, Ill Bell, Froswick,Thornthwaite Crag and returned via The Tongue. Great day out in the Lakes, well done .

Some CMC members have had a great long weekend in Moffat, staying in tents, caravans,flats and cottages. Weather was a mixture of sun,clouds,drizzle and HAILSTONES!! Several groups went out on different walks to suit all capabilities included;- Hart Fell,Hind Hill,Gallow Hill,Grey Mares Tail Waterfall,Loch Skean and a Himalayan Garden.

Thursday 7th May some members left Austwick and walked through Warfe and upto Moughton Scars returning via Crummock Dale back to Austwick.
A great walk in typical Yorkshire Limestone scenery.

A few members enjoyed a great walk in the Howgills last Sunday 26th April, they set off From Sedbergh going up Settlebeck Gill to Arant Haw, Calders and The Calf, then returned via Calders to Winder to return to Sedbergh via Lockbank farm. We were so lucky to have a lovely sunny day.

The first of our monthly evening walks and what a beautiful night it was, we left Hurst Green and walked part of The Tolkien Trail. It was interesting watching the Sand Martins flying in and out of the sandy bank.

This last weekend a few of us spent a great weekend in Rossthwaite.
Walks included Watendlath, Glaramara, High Spy, Maiden moor, Grange, Langstrath Valley etc.
