Full Time⏱️
The Peg started brightly and created opportunities early on, with a penalty awarded around the 20 minute mark. Dean Ager stepped up to the spot, but the Rayleigh Town goalkeeper produced an excellent double save to keep the scores level. We eventually found the breakthrough through Ryan Mahon, who finished from a well delivered corner to give us a 1-0 lead at the break.
Rayleigh Town came out strongly after the interval and turned the game around, scoring twice to take a 2-1 lead.
With time running out, we showed great character to find a late equaliser through Sunny Percival, sending the game to a penalty shootout.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be, as we exit the FA Vase after narrowly losing 6-5 on penalties.
