The First XI's final and most important game of the season sees us travel to Acton. A win would see us rely on other results in the division to guarantee a place in Division 6 again next season.

Another dominant win for the First XI as the fight for survival goes down to the final day.

After Kesgrave won the toss and elected to field, Rob Evans (70) and Richard Springett (90) got the First XI off to a superb start, putting on their second 100+ run partnership of the season. Contributions from Matt Radley (30) and Sam Evans (27) then helped push the total up to a competitive 256/7 from 45 overs.

In response, Kesgrave’s openers started brightly, with the boundaries flowing early on. That was until the ball was thrown to Bellers (3-32 from 9 overs) and JJ (2-17 from 9 overs), who ripped through the hosts’ dangerous top order and quickly swung the game back in our favour.

Kesgrave eventually finished on 171/7 from their 45 overs, sealing another convincing victory and 18 valuable points for the First XI. It all now comes down to the final day of the season away at Acton, with survival still in our own hands.

With the Second XI’s season coming to a rather damp end last week, there’s just the one fixture to look ahead to this weekend.

It’s a big one for the First XI, with survival still hanging in the balance as we travel to Kesgrave for the penultimate game of the season.

Jon Jones bought up his century of wickets last week as the First XI kept survival hopes alive with a dominant performance against East Bergholt.

Losing the toss and being put into the field, early wickets from Will Cosham (3/13 off 8 Overs) allowed for a strong start. But after Jonesy (6/10 off 9 Overs) had been given the ball, the game was all but over; skittling the remaining batters for 85.

In response, the runs were shared out with Michael Dell top scoring with 29(41), as the First XI chased the total down in 20 Overs and concluded their final home game with 20 points.
