๐๏ธโโ๏ธ ADAPTING EXERCISE ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ
Earlier this year I had deep vein thrombosis in my right arm which resulted in me being hospitalised and having to change the way I workout.
No upper body exercise for me which I LOVE โน๏ธ๐ช๐ผ
In a couple of weeks Iโm having an operation to remove my rib that caused the DVT.
Its going to be a long recovery but Iโll be able to slowly start lifting those weights again โค๏ธโ๐ฉน ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ
As Iโm limited what I can do walking is my go to so Iโm out twice a day with my labradaughter ๐ถ๐โ๏ธ
Its all too easy to stop exercising when we become injured or have changes to our body, there are ways to keep moving!!

๐งItโs Global Smoothie Day Today๐ง
Smoothies are a great and pretty easy way to get some good stuff into your body๐งโโ๏ธ
Dietary guidelines recommend 5-8 portions of fruit and veg per day, however, this can be a struggle for a lot of us.
I use frozen fruits and spinach/avocado as they tend to be cheaper and theres no waste. It also has that milkshake consistency which I love ๐
Give your body a boost, throw foods in and blitz up โก๏ธSee pic to see what I put in mine today (was a post workout snack so added creatine and protein powder ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ)
Great options are: ๐นAny fruit (berries and bananas work well) - source of vitamins and nutrients. Make fruit 20% of your smoothie to control sugar intake. ๐๐๐ฅ๐ซ๐
๐นMilk/Non dairy eg oat/soya/almondย ๐ฅ
๐นFlax and/or chia seeds - both provide fibre and Omega 3. They can help heart health and lower blood pressure โค๏ธ ๐คฏ
๐นAvocado/spinach/kale/cucumber- vitamins and nutrients. Avocado for good healthy fats ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅฌ
๐นProtein Powder - protein source to help build and repair muscles ๐ช๐ผ
๐นCreatine Powder - increase strength, build muscle and can boost brain function brain๐ง
๐นNatural Greek Yogurt (0% if your goal is fat loss) - good source of protein and calcium. Supports gut health ๐
