Earlier this year I had deep vein thrombosis in my right arm which resulted in me being hospitalised and having to change the way I workout.
No upper body exercise for me which I LOVE โ˜น๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ
In a couple of weeks Iโ€™m having an operation to remove my rib that caused the DVT.
Its going to be a long recovery but Iโ€™ll be able to slowly start lifting those weights again โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

As Iโ€™m limited what I can do walking is my go to so Iโ€™m out twice a day with my labradaughter ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ‚โ˜€๏ธ

Its all too easy to stop exercising when we become injured or have changes to our body, there are ways to keep moving!!

๐Ÿง‹Itโ€™s Global Smoothie Day Today๐Ÿง‹

Smoothies are a great and pretty easy way to get some good stuff into your body๐Ÿงโ€โ™€๏ธ
Dietary guidelines recommend 5-8 portions of fruit and veg per day, however, this can be a struggle for a lot of us.
I use frozen fruits and spinach/avocado as they tend to be cheaper and theres no waste. It also has that milkshake consistency which I love ๐Ÿ˜‹
Give your body a boost, throw foods in and blitz up โšก๏ธSee pic to see what I put in mine today (was a post workout snack so added creatine and protein powder ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ)

Great options are: ๐Ÿ”นAny fruit (berries and bananas work well) - source of vitamins and nutrients. Make fruit 20% of your smoothie to control sugar intake. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿซ๐ŸŒ
๐Ÿ”นMilk/Non dairy eg oat/soya/almondย ๐Ÿฅ›
๐Ÿ”นFlax and/or chia seeds - both provide fibre and Omega 3. They can help heart health and lower blood pressure โค๏ธ ๐Ÿคฏ
๐Ÿ”นAvocado/spinach/kale/cucumber- vitamins and nutrients. Avocado for good healthy fats ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿฅ‘๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅฌ
๐Ÿ”นProtein Powder - protein source to help build and repair muscles ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ
