A Father's Day to Remember at Castle Park!

Sunday's Womens T20 Vitality Cup match ran very well with Essex certainly pleased with the result. Huge congratulations to the Essex Women's team.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to ALL the volunteers who worked so hard on a hot day to help make the day such a success. It was hugely appreciated that we had so many willing to help make the day run so smoothly.

From the Pimms tent, BBQ, a cake/strawberries stand, hot drinks and the bar, all run by volunteers, on top of this a raffle, management of the sightscreens and covers, if required, all in all a wonderful piece of organisation. Oh, and an MC that made the day go so well - special thanks to Matt.

The ground looked picture perfect - thanks to our groundsman Jez for this.

Essex CCC also helped with the opening of the car park in Castle Park, and supply of stewards to make the event compliant with ECB regulations.

It was so good to see two of our own play well and make significant contributions for Essex.

Lastly, a wonderful day was topped by the CEECC Women winning the Hundred in style, well done Natalie and the team 🙌

Reigning Champions Are Through to Hundred Final

Defending Essex Women’s Hundred champions Colchester & East Essex Women are through to another final after a thrilling six-run victory over rivals Wanstead & Snaresbrook CC.

A strong batting display led by Clare Heywood (44) and Taylor Foster (28) helped Colchester post 122-4, before a superb bowling and fielding effort sealed a dramatic win. With Wanstead needing a late push, Colchester held their nerve, conceding no boundaries in the final 33 balls and taking four wickets in the last 10 deliveries.

Wickets were shared by Clare Heywood (3-19), Eva Lewis (2-16), Liv Powell (2-18) and Taylor Foster (1-17), while crucial run-outs from Clare Heywood and Joanna Johnson helped secure victory.

Congratulations to the squad on reaching another Essex Premier League final! 💙💛

🏏 Weekend Cricket at Castle Park! 🏏

Colchester Men's First XI return to Castle Park tomorrow (12 noon) as they take on a struggling Loughton CC side in a crucial Essex Premier League fixture.

With momentum building after last week's victory, another win could see Colchester climb comfortably away from the relegation battle and back towards the top half of the table. 💪

On Sunday, the action continues with a North Essex T30 clash against Witham, while our Women's First XI travel to Woodford as they continue their impressive season.

A dominant all-round performance saw Colchester & East Essex 1st XI return to form with a commanding 128-run victory over Fives & Heronians CC, posting the Essex Premier League’s highest score of the season so far – 356 all out. 💪

Strong contributions throughout the batting order laid the foundation for a huge total.

With the ball, Vikas Agarwal (4-23) and Hassan Bin Shahab (3-34) produced a match-winning spell to turn the game decisively in Colchester’s favour.

There was disappointment in the National Knockout Cup the following day despite a superb unbeaten 120 from skipper Joe MacGregor, while the 2nd XI secured an impressive eight-wicket victory, but the 3rd XI fell agonisingly short by just four runs after a blistering 77 from 37 balls by Srimal Mudiyanselange.

A fantastic weekend of cricket with plenty of positives across the club. 👏

Areeb Rashid, Daniel Gladwell, and Jack Auld of the Essex Men's Academy have all been called up to support England Men during the Test match at Lord's against New Zealand.
