It’s with deep sadness to be posting and letting all our customers know.
Tony Hakins has sadly passed away aged 90 💙😢. So many of you have wonderful memories of Tony for those who don’t know Geoff and Tony were co-founders of the club and it was renowned as the best snooker club around! These two gentleman created a snooker scene like no other especially through the 70’s & 80’s. The snooker scene was Hot, famous players known as snooker legends today, Tony’s long friend
Jimmy White, Steve Davis, Marco Fu are just a few to name, many more have all played at the club. I’m always envious I wasn’t born or old enough to see these times. From the stories I’ve been told from a young girl to then starting working behind the bar from 2001. Geoff I was told was the gold man everything he touched turned to gold. One of the customers described Tony as magnetic force he attracted people by the 100’s. All the stories I’ve heard it’s with the fondest memories and love for the club. Because of Geoff and Tony’s passion they created a truly wonderful club scene, even after they retired, the respect that people had for the club they still have today. All these decades later it’s still standing the test of time and I truly believe it’s because of what Geoff and Tony first created.
