CRANEY WINS IT FOR THE HEATH!

Managed a nervy win against a determined Tendring side who made us work for every touch of the ball. We lead at HT thanks to some great work on the wing by Emmerson, squaring the ball for Harry Taylor to score his first goal for us. The second half saw us under pressure from Tendring, which eventually paid off when they levelled the scores with 10 minutes to go. With the game nearing an end, Morley found himself in some space to chip a delightful ball into the box allowing James Crane, making his second appearance of the season, to score a fantastic header. Gerard Roulston was our Man of the Match, putting in an all action display at the heart of the midfield, winning the ball countless times and setting up attacks. A mention for our Dick of the Day Lewis Newlove for stepping up and going in goal for us, delivering a thoroughly enjoyable 90 minutes for us all.

Some words from the gaffer

Brilliant comeback performance from the boys after trailing 2-0 at HT thanks to 3 minutes that went completely against the run of play saw us go in at the break behind. A couple of tweaks at the interval and the boys came out fighting, determined to change the result and showed great character in doing so. A penalty from Gerry Roulston and a tap in from Dominic Emmerson saw us draw level, before a free kick from Gerry Roulston beat the GK and gave us the ascendancy. The lads battled hard and showed great focus to see out the last 10 minutes and seal an incredible comeback. MotM performance at the back by our Aiden Lizzimore ensured the defence stayed firm and kept the opposition out, while also breaking the lines multiple times with some clever passing.

Up next for the Heath we welcome to Shrub end in an ESBL fixture. After last week's disappointing result we look to bounce back and put in a performance worthy of all 3 points.

A word from the gaffer

Difficult result to take, considering we were the better team and on top after a terrible opening 10 minutes that saw us 2-0 down from two big mistakes. The boys grew into the game and five minutes into the second half clawed one back with a great ball from Callum Mitchell releasing Ben Seabrook to score a well placed finish. We hit the cross bar a staggering three times and missed from close in to compound our misery. Incredible battling from Eugene Nwolu in the middle of the park ensured he was our MotM with his unrivalled work rate and constantly breaking up any threat the opposition had.
