Today’s Coldstream FC Man of the Match goes to Ben Macrae. 🔵⚪️

Filling in at right-back, Ben put in a solid performance from start to finish. He worked hard, showed real hunger and played like someone with a point to prove.

Comfortable on the ball, Ben travelled well when the opportunity was there and his distribution was consistently good throughout the game.
In a difficult afternoon for the Streamers, Ben stood out for his work rate, attitude and willingness to keep going.

A hugely disappointing afternoon at Home Park as the Streamers fall to a 4–1 defeat against Bathgate Thistle.

There can be no hiding from this one. Today simply wasn’t good enough.

Once again, points have been allowed to slip away, but more concerning than the result was the manner of the performance. The effort, commitment and desire expected when pulling on a Coldstream shirt simply weren’t there often enough.

In truth, the warning signs have been there for several weeks. We’ve spoken about performances, about taking responsibility and about competing for every ball, but today those same problems were evident again.

Too many passengers. Too many hiding when the game gets difficult. Too few prepared to take responsibility and drag the team forward.

At this level, ability alone isn’t enough. You have to compete. You have to work. You have to show hunger and desire. You have to be prepared to do the difficult side of the game for your teammates and for the badge.

On a difficult afternoon, Ben MacRae, returning Baigy Heugh, Buster Briggs and Ollie Young were probably the few who could genuinely come away with pass marks for their performances and attitude.

For everyone else, its mirror time to have a look.

Nobody expects perfection and nobody expects us to win every week, particularly in what is a challenging first season back in League 1. But there are minimum standards that should never be negotiable — work rate, commitment, desire and pride in representing Coldstream Football Club.

Today, collectively, we fell well short of those standards.

There’s no point dressing it up. The response now has to come from within the dressing room.

Coldstream Football Club are delighted to announce the return of Stuart “Buster” Briggs to Home Park.

Buster is certainly no stranger to the Streamers, having already made over 100 appearances in the famous blue shirt, finding the net an impressive 76 times during his previous spell with the club.

A proven goalscorer with a wealth of experience across the East of Scotland game, Buster has also represented Newtongrange Star and Preston Athletic at East of Scotland Premier Division level, adding further quality and know-how to an already competitive Coldstream squad.

Experienced strikers are always hot property, and bringing Buster back to Home Park adds another dimension and even more firepower to the Streamers’ attacking options.

He brings experience, strength, composure and a proven eye for goal, but just as importantly, he knows the club, knows the level and knows exactly what it means to represent Coldstream Football Club.

With more than a century of appearances and 76 goals already behind him in a Streamers shirt, there’s unfinished business and plenty more still to come.

Coldstream Football Club are delighted to announce the return of Craig “Baigy” Heugh to Home Park.

A familiar face to everyone associated with the Streamers, Baigy returns to the club having previously amassed over 170 appearances in Coldstream colours, bringing with him a huge amount of experience from across the East of Scotland football scene.

His footballing journey has also included time with Gala Fairydean Rovers, adding further experience to a player who knows exactly what is required at this level.

Baigy’s return adds another dimension to the squad. Steel, tenacity, experience and a relentless work ethic are all part of his game, while his leadership and willingness to use his voice will be invaluable both on the park and around the dressing room.

He knows the club. He knows the league. And most importantly, he knows what it means to pull on a Coldstream shirt.

With over 170 previous appearances for the Streamers already to his name, there’s plenty of history there — and now another chapter is ready to be written.
