What a morning. Event 516 saw 80 juniors line up on the start line, a number only bettered 16 times before. Do you think it's catching on? Our new parkmates today were Parker, Jack, Harry and Lily whilst Darwin, Eldon and Isaac were visiting us for the first time, which means that 73 were returning to the forest. Great news and long may it continue.
The course was in good condition, despite the odd spot of rain throughout the week, so good that 22 juniors bagged a shiny new PB. Well done everyone. Crossing the line for the 10th rime and earning her first milestone wristband was Ella. Will she go on to match or exceed the 224 finishes by Meredith or the 104 by Finley, who knows but if you just keep turning up there's a host of milestones and certificates available to recognise your achievements at 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 credits. Tee shirts are also available from the parkrun shop at £10 for juniors....Christmas is coming :-)
Our category first finishers today were JW10 Ezra, (7), JW11-14 Ruby (1 and a PB), JM10 Kai (3); JM11-14 Max, (8 and a PB too)
We had 20 fabulous volunteers this morning, but no milesrones, although Steve Harris will notch up his 200th credit the next time he helps put at pr or jpr. Go Steve.
Today went so well we want to do it all again next week. Please do keep coming, please do keep volunteering (Our volunteers get a free drink too...Hint) and please keep supporting any way you can. See you all next Sunday.

What a splendid turnout this morning at the enclosure. 59 children lined up and 57 got a finish time, as sadly they were not recorded. Happily there were some new faces. Tess, Nancy. Rose, Josie, Evelyn and Jacob finished their very first event and visitor Ioan finished his second. We hope you enjoyed it and have caught the bug enough to come back a few more times. If you do, there's milestone wristbands available like those earned today by Ayla, Amber and Elowyn for completing 10 events and by Janel for crossing the finish line for the 25th time. Will they be here next week to collect? Follow our page or turn up to find out :-)
Samuel was our most experienced boy today, with 103 credits and Ebony was our most experienced girl, with a tally of 179. Just another 21 for your next wristband Ebony, keep going.
Our category first finishers today were: JW10Ezra (with a new PB, 8); JW11-14 Ruby, (2); JM10 Jet, (3) and JM11-14 Oliver, (also with a new PB, 1)
Other smiling faces with a new PB were Oliver (a different one), Samuel, Ayla, Bryn, Olly, Khari, Eliza, Tobias, Charlie, Ayla (yes, a different one), Janel, Oisin, Jackson, Merlin, Amber and Oakes. Phew. That's a lot...well done everyone. Well done and thank you to our fabulous volunteers too. Without them we would have no events so please do show some appreciation when you see them. The parkrun fairy waved a magic wand this morning and ensured no rain fell on jpr. This was good news but especially for our brand new juniors, Efan, Rory, Eera, Oliver and Oakes as we didn't want anything to spoil that first event. The recent rainfall didn't pool much, although it did cause a few branches to droop but nothing spoiled the beauty of the forest as it waited to be enjoyed by first time visitors Dylan, Imogen, Hari, Anna, Freddie, Asher, Emily, Finlay, Devon, Harri, Anwen, Ryan, Scott, Emily and Lloyd. We hope you had a fabulous time and will come back to see us again. There were lots of smiles, (I think we had 66 juniors with smiles and a few adults too) and lots of cake to be enjoyed nearly as much as a new PB. These were gained his morning by Sykes, Emily, Erin, Rex, Elowyn, Amber, Oscar, Arwen, Ffion and Theo. Congratulations to all of you and also to Cosmos, Anya, Sophie and Jasper for completing their 10th event . They can now collect their first wristband on their next jor, wherever it is, download a certificate free from the parkrun shop and possibly persuade someone to buy them a milestone tee shirt (£10) too. Our most experienced juniors todwy were Lloyd (179) and Ebony (178) and our category first finishers were JW10, Elizah (12); JW11-14, Ruby (1); JM10 Kai, (2) and JM11-14 First Timer, Ryan (4).
We had 19 fabulous volunteers. There's always room for more so if you ever feel like helping out, please look out for the post on Facebook, email the team at [email protected] or just ask on the day. Please do opt in and receive our emails, which we occasionally send out if we are struggling to fill the roster.

Let's get the not nice stuff out of the way. We had a four year old first timer apparently grunted at by a couple of our older runners and told to "Move" or "Move it". We do parkrun for fun, the glory of the bands and cake. Yes, it can be a personal race and yes, it is all inclusive for everyone. Let's all ensure that we are nice, even when competing with ourselves and maybe a bit gentle round the smaller ones please. Nuff said. Onto this morning. What a wonderful morning to be out in the enclosure. A bit cooler than recently (Happily so, judging by the comments I heard today) and good conditions for jpr. We had Elijah, Finn and Louis take their first pr steps and we also had some visitors: Paddy, Reuben, Beth and Megan. We hope you had a really good time and also that you'll be back to see us again. Next time around, Theo and Freya can pick up a wrist band as they completed their 10th event today. Also able to pick them up are Oscar and Isaac, following their 25th credits this morning. Will they keep going and surpass Harrison's 123 finishes or even Ebony's 177? Who knows, but if they keep coming along there are more bands at 50-75-200-250-200-250 and 300 on offer as well as the ability to purchase a new milestone t-shirt for a tenner. Who is going to get one for Christmas? There were a few parkthletc performances baggng a new PB from Charlie, Harlow, Phoebe, Theo, Freya, Sophie, Heidi, Ffion, Gracie, Elizah and Olivia. Congratulations and well done to you all and also to today's first finishers: JW10 Phoebe, with a PB (11); JW11-14 First Timer Beth (2); JM10 Eli, (1) and JM11-14 Harrison (15). We were supported by 18 fabulous volunteers today, including Ebony, who earned her V25 wristband. Well done and thank you. Did you know there are almost 2,800 parkruns and junior parkruns with almost 13 million people registered. There are only 60 people on the planet who have volunteered more than 500 times and we have three of them right here in the forest! Why not come and join them from time to time? It;s good fun and you also get free tea and coffee for your efforts :-)
