☕ SUNDAY MORNING AT THE SHABBY ATTIC… KETTLE’S ON!

For the past three years, Sunday mornings at The Shabby Attic have become a bit of a thing.

We’re open 10am–3pm, and between roughly 10 and 12, a few of the lads tend to gather, have a cuppa, a chat and generally put the world to rights.

No club. No membership. No agenda. And definitely no minutes being taken. 😂

Some weeks there are two or three of us, other weeks there’s quite a crowd.

The conversation can be about absolutely anything — the military bits around the shop, the ridiculous amount of LEGO we’ve got in, Star Wars, old toys, collecting, things we remember from years ago… and usually a fair amount of complete nonsense thrown in for good measure.

It’s just become a nice little Sunday morning tradition.

So if you’re a bloke who fancies popping in for a browse and a natter this morning, come on down.

You don’t need to know anyone.
You don’t need to buy anything.
You don’t even need to have anything particularly interesting to say. 😂

Just come in. The kettle’s on. ☕

Our last event was a huge success, with many happy customers. 🙂
There is plenty of convenient parking available, along with comfortable surroundings where you can relax and enjoy refreshments throughout your visit.

Some days remind us why we’ve been here for six years.

The other day, a gentleman came into The Shabby Attic with some jewellery he wanted to sell, it had belonged to his late wife. As we talked, it became clear that he wasn’t just selling jewellery—he was trying to let go of memories he wasn’t quite ready to part with.

We could have bought it. Instead, we handed it back and said, “Take a little more time. If you still want to sell it later, we’ll be here.”

Yesterday he came back. Not to sell it, but to shake our hands and bring us two ci**rs as a thank you. He said we’d been right, he needed more time.

Moments like that remind us that this job isn’t always about buying and selling. Sometimes it’s about seeing the person in front of you.

The jewellery can wait. Kindness shouldn’t.
