Right, you lot… we’ve given you enough time to put the wetsuits away (you’ve washed them of course!), hang up the race numbers and pretend we’re all capable of behaving ourselves for one evening. 😂

This one is for ALL of our PTC family — whether you’ve smashed races, chased PBs, discovered that running after cycling is actually a terrible idea, volunteered until you could no longer feel your feet, or spent most of the season saying “I’m definitely doing a triathlon next year.” 😂

And we absolutely haven’t forgotten our Lake Burwain open-water crew! 🏊‍♀️🌊

Whether you’re a regular Burwain swimmer, a skins enthusiast, a wetsuit warrior, a tow-float sw***er, a Marshall, a volunteer, a pie consumer or someone who just turns up for the gossip and questionable parking… you’re part of the gang too!

It’s with a heavy heart that I say Open Water swimming is CANCELLED for the foreseeable 😢

As many know tonight’s swim and next weeks were to be donated to https://www.derianhouse.co.uk/ as a fitting donation to our very own Anne McCaigue and Nicola McCaigue dear sweet Francesca who passed away after defeating all odds for many years.

Pies are fresh and ordered so please come down and enjoy these so we don’t have to waste them.

If your happy to donate this weeks swim fee then wonderful but don’t feel you have to do this.

I think we will also accept donations tonight and raise a mug of tea to a brave young lady gone too soon.

We hope to still see you all and if you want a pie and haven’t ordered one let us know as we may have a few extra.

Thanks for a wonderful season and you never know we may see what summer brings and test in the autumn as we know you brave souls love a good cold water dip.

Just a little reminder…

🥧 Pie bookings close at LUNCHTIME today! If you’re planning on rewarding yourself with a post-swim pie (as you should!), make sure you get booked before the deadline.

🏊‍♀️ Swim bookings will stay open a little longer this week, so there’s still time to squeeze in a swim if you’re a last-minute decision maker.

🩵 Every swim booked this week is doing more than getting you in the water. We’re donating the proceeds from every swim booking to Derian House in memory of the wonderful Francesca McCaigue.

If the weather behaves, this will be the same next week too 🤞🏻

💙 Swim with Purpose at Burwain 💙

This week, and hopefully next if the weather behaves itself, every open water swim booking at Swim Lake Burwain will mean so much more than just time in the water.

We will be donating the money from the swim bookings to Derian House Hospice, in memory of the truly wonderful Francesca McCaigue, a fiercely Brave & Tenacious young woman who sadly passed away yesterday.

Whether you’re a regular swimmer or you’ve been thinking about giving open water swimming a try, we’d love for you to join us.
Every booking will help us honour Francesca’s memory while supporting the incredible work that Derian House does for children, young people and families it supports.

Thank you for helping us turn our community’s love of open water into something that can make a real difference.

This is your friendly (ish) reminder that bookings for Thursday’s Open Water Swim close at lunchtime on Wednesday.

And before anyone asks… YES, that includes the pies! 🥧

We’re good… but we’re not miracle workers. If you haven’t booked, we can’t just pull a pie out of thin air because you gave us your best puppy-dog eyes. 😂

Don’t be that person, stood watching everyone else tucking into a hot pie while you’re sat there with nowt but a brew, melted chocolate bar and bad decisions. 😏
