Colne Cricket Colne Cricket Club was formed in 1830, and is the oldest club in the Lancashire League, and among the oldest in Lancashire.

The first games were played on the Horsfield, the same field that is used today. Colne Cricket Club also has a licensed bar and function room available for birthday parties, weddings, christenings and other events. Please get in touch if you would like to book.

✍️ SIGNED, SEALED & STAYING! 🏏💙

Colne Cricket Club are extremely pleased to announce the re-signing of Professional Geeth Kumara for the 2027 season, which will be his 6th consecutive season at The Horsfield! 🙌🏼

Geeth has become a huge part of the Colne CC family, both off the pitch and on it, and his stats speak for themselves. In his 107 league and cup appearances for the club, he’s accumulated 4,816 runs (Colne’s 10th highest run scorer of all time), at an average of 72.86, including 7 centuries & 41 fifties, and with the ball has taken 257 wickets at an average of 16.44, including 16 five-wicket hauls.

In the 2026 season to date, Geeth has amassed 868 league & cup runs at an incredible average of 108.50, alongside 48 wickets at 17.43. With two games remaining, he’s currently chasing a 5th consecutive league & cup double (1,000 runs & 50 wickets in a season), an extraordinary achievement that underlines just how important he has been to our Club’s success over recent seasons.

Colne CC’s 3rd XI Promoted as Champions! 🏏

A huge congratulations to our 3rd XI and everyone who has represented the side this season on their promotion to the JW Lees Lancashire League Third XI Division 3 after beating Clitheroe CC 4th XI yesterday.

Captain Chris Burt won the toss and elected to bowl first. James Burt starred with the ball taking 4-30 off his 8 overs to help restrict the home side to 123-9 off their 40 overs. In reply with the bat, Alfie Hartley top scored with 31 to help chase down the total 5 wickets down with 4.5 overs to spare and secure promotion as CHAMPIONS 🏆!

Well done again to everyone involved, another day to be proud to be Colne CC! 🏏💙
