🔴⚪️⚽️ UNDER 10 GIRLS – WHAT A START! ⚽️🔴⚪️

After the success at the Colne FC Juniors Girls Tournament and some fantastic pre-season training sessions, we were all excited to finally get the season underway – and what a start it was! ❤️

For the first game of the season, it was a fantastic performance and a real pleasure to watch. Every single girl played their part in a brilliant team victory. 👏

We looked solid and organised when defending and dangerous going forward. We scored 6 fantastic goals – some excellent team goals, some great individual strikes – and on another day, we could easily have added another 6! ⚽️🔥

But the goals were only part of what made the performance so good. The team spirit from the first minute to the last was fantastic. Helping each other in tackles, covering for one another, making the extra pass when it was on and constantly encouraging each other. That’s exactly what we want to see. 🙌❤️

A massive shoutout to Penny and Daisy, who both played their first game for us and fitted into the team like they’d been with us for years! 👏❤️

What a debut! Daisy was absolutely fantastic, covering every blade of grass both attacking and defending. A brilliant first game and thoroughly deserved! 👏👏👏

🔴⚽ Colne Red U12 – First Game of the Season ⚽🔴

Not the result we wanted this week, but there were some really positive spells of football from the boys and plenty to build on. 💪

A special mentions go to Freddie, who was awarded the opposition manager’s Player of the Match. 👏 He never gave up, kept pushing right until the final whistle and was always looking to drive the team forward. Fantastic effort! 🔥

And our Parents’ Player of the Match was Toby. ⭐ Toby played in multiple positions today, doing whatever was needed to help the team and always giving his best. A great example of commitment and teamwork. 👏

It was a tough one for our first game of the season, but there are plenty of lessons to learn and lots of positives to take. The important thing is that we keep working hard, keep learning and keep improving together.

Heads up, boys — plenty more football to come! 🔴⚽

The new season is underway, which always creates a buzz, and we had 2 fantastic training sessions last week! 🙌🏻

The kids were focused, had an excellent attitude, and showed some real quality in the attacking sessions.

Training Champion - Billy 🏆

Billy won our inaugural “Training Champion” trophy for really impressing me across the board. He’s set himself a level now that he needs to hit and exceed every single week! 💪🏻

In terms of our opening game, a really tough one for us… one that you quickly forget and move on from, but there were positives.

Opposition Coaches Player of the Match - Noah 🏆

The stats speak for themselves here!

20 saves, 3 successful 1v1’s, 3 crucial catches and 5 clearances.

The opposition coaches praised Noah for “some top goalkeeping” in a tough game. Well done, Noah! 👏🏻

Manager’s Player of the Match - Will 🏆

Will played CM for the first time in a full format game, and his cameo there was fantastic. He barely put a foot wrong!

We have introduced team roles this season, and Will’s our recovery leader. He was instructing on and off the pitch, which really impressed me, and I thought he worked hard all game. Well done, Will! 👏🏻

⚽️❤️ UNDER 12 GIRLS BLACK – WHAT A START TO THE SEASON! ❤️⚽️

What a fantastic start to the season for our Under 12 Girls Black, coming away with a brilliant win in their first game! 🙌🔴⚫️

Myself (Matty) and Denis have been working really hard with the girls on finding more space, passing and moving, and communicating with each other. On Sunday, it was the best we’ve seen them play! 👏⚽️

There honestly wasn’t one fault in their performance. The girls worked incredibly hard from start to finish and played brilliantly as a team. We’re so proud of every single one of them! ❤️

Maisie had an absolute monster of a game! 💪 She was like a brick wall in defence and put in an unbelievable performance! ❤️👏

We ended preseason by entering the Bispham Juniors tournament in Blackpool.

It was a competitive format, with strong teams, but we had a good group stage. 3 clean sheets out of 5 games and progression into the knockouts.

It was an early start, and a long day, and the team ultimately ran out of steam and lost in the semi final.

Despite the upset, there was lots of learning to take away and work on, and the kids got a chance to bond as a team and enjoy the day which is what tournament footy is all about! ❤️⚽️

🔴⚪⚽ GREAT START TO THE SEASON FOR MY UNDER 13s! ⚽⚪🔴

What a way to start the season! 🙌

Even though we conceded 7 goals, with 5 of them coming from our own mistakes, the fact we went on to score 10 and come away with the 3 points shows just how far this team has come. 💪

Going into half-time 5-4 down showed the character and fight they have developed. A team talk of enjoy yourselves, but get the ball moving quicker worked a treat!

Within the first 2 minutes of the second half, we were 6-4 up! 🔥 That just showed how much they wanted it and how determined they were to get the result.

There are a few things for us to work on in training on Wednesday, but for now it's all about enjoying a fantastic 3 points against a side that will definitely be up there this season. 👏

10 goals, 3 points and a brilliant start! ❤️

⚽🔴 UNDER 10 BLACKS – FIRST GAME BACK! 🔴⚽

Our Under 10 Blacks were back in action for their first game of the season, away against one of our local rivals – and it was always going to be a good one! 👊

From the first minute it was end-to-end football, with some fantastic football played at times despite the difficult conditions. 🌧️⚽

⚽ 2 goals – Charlie E
⚽ 1 goal – Sean
⚽ 1 goal – Charlie F

Unfortunately, hitting the crossbar and post in the final 5 minutes proved to be the difference, as we came away on the wrong side of a 1-goal game.

Despite the result, the lads came off the pitch with their heads held high – and rightly so! ❤️🖤

⭐ PLAYER OF THE MATCH – SEAN ⭐
A fantastic achievement, with Sean being awarded Player of the Match by the opposition coach for his vision and passing. 👏

A brilliant effort from the whole team in their first game back. 💪
