💗🖤 BATTLING. ADAPTING. TOGETHER. 🖤💗
A completely different challenge for the girls this morning against a very strong and physical Colne Juniors Black side! What a response from this group! 👏⚽
We had to battle for absolutely everything. Colne started strongly, put us under real pressure and deservedly took the lead.
We were being overrun in midfield too, so part way through the first half we changed our formation to give us a little more control.
The girls adapted instantly. 🧠⚽
That's something we're incredibly proud of with this group. Their football intelligence and ability to recognise what a game needs is developing all the time. To change shape during a match, understand different responsibilities and then execute it so well is fantastic at this age.
From there, we really found our groove.
But this wasn't just about playing good football. Colne gave us a real physical battle and the girls stood up to it brilliantly. They competed for every loose ball, every tackle and every second ball. 💪🔥
The second half was probably our best spell of football. We created chance after chance and, despite the quality of the opposition, didn't allow them a single shot after half-time.

⭐ Players of the Match – Chloe & Riga ⭐
Two huge midfield performances. Chloe won more tackles than anyone on the pitch, while Riga covered an incredible amount of ground, matching captain Bella at the top of our distance-covered stats. 👏
And another brilliant captain's performance from Bella, who led from the front and finished the game with the most goal involvements. 💗
Different players contributing in different ways, but everyone playing their part.
From going behind against a strong opponent to adapting, battling and eventually taking control of the game, this was a performance full of character.
3–1. But much more importantly, another big step forward for this group. 💗🖤
