World Su***de Prevention Day 🖤
Today, we remember that behind every person who walks through our doors is a human being carrying things we may never see.
Our club knows all too well that even the strongest people can be struggling silently. Our founder was someone who brought people together through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, built a community, and left a lasting mark on so many lives. We lost him to su***de, and his absence is felt every day.
So today, we want to remind everyone:
You don't have to be strong all the time. You don't have to face things alone. And asking for help is never a weakness.
Check in on your training partners. Check in on your friends. Ask twice if someone doesn't seem themselves. Sometimes a simple “Are you really okay?” can mean more than you realise.
The mats are a place where we learn to fall, get back up, and keep going. Let’s make sure that spirit extends beyond the mats too.
Talk. Listen. Check in. Stay.
For anyone struggling today, please reach out to someone you trust or seek professional support. You matter to more people than you may realise.
🖤 In memory of Michael Eccles. Forever part of our team.
