Its a little later than anticipated, but ive had another hectic week. Just a little update from last week.
As you all were aware, last week was maintenance week. This is our main week of intensive greens maintenance. This is essential for the long term plan and health of the greens, moving forward.
What we did last week
- solid tined greens with Β½" tines @ a depth of 5Β½"
- verti-cut greens Β½" depth, removed clippings
- cut greens to tidy before applying dressing.
- applied dressing, approx 28 tonne
- dragmat and brush sand into the holes
- verti-cut again ( boxes off ) to work the sand into the profile and force sand into the verti-cut grooves and tine holes
- irrigate greens to wash sand into the holes
- brush and mat again
- finally counter- rotating brush to finish and tidy.
The week went well, its a tough week so id like to take this opportunity to thank the staff. With a man down. Jeff, Jack and myself worked tirelessly over the week to get the job completed. Everyone worked together like a well oiled machine ( let's face it, its not our first rodeo ), but i couldnt have asked for more from anyone.
Looking at how the greens have recovered a week later, and with a county event yesterday I was a little aprehensive on how they would react ( they did know that the work had been carried out, prior to arrival ) . But todays feedback has been tremendous considering what was achieved last week. So again, a huge thanks to Jeff and Jack and also not forgetting Paul Charlton Terry Charlton of Turfcare for the lend of the tractor π and dakota. Again our working relationship with TSL helps up moving forward. Thankyou so much everyone π, great team effort
