What a fantastic day for girls rugby at Consett RFC!
It was brilliant to see our U12s and U14s taking to the field, with plenty of our U16s coming along to support. Even better was seeing so many families around the club, enjoying the facilities and creating the kind of atmosphere that makes rugby such a special sport.
Today was a fantastic demonstration of great rugby values. Players were shared between teams to make sure everyone got valuable game time, the girls supported one another, and the encouragement from the sidelines was fantastic.
And importantly, the support wasn't just for our own girls — there was plenty of cheering and encouragement for great rugby from both teams. 👏
That is exactly what makes rugby such an engaging and enjoyable sport for everyone. 🖤💛💜🏉

Massive thanks Billingham Rugby Club for making the trip up to consett today and best of luck for the rest of the season.

On Saturday, some of our coaches were fortunate enough to go and see the legendary Nigel Owens.

While they were there, Nigel was kind enough to record a little message especially for the girls at Consett Rugby Club! 🏉🙌

A massive thank you to Nigel for taking the time to do this — a brilliant message from one of rugby’s very best referees!

The school holidays are nearly over, so now’s the perfect time to get the girls back to training or start a new sport for the first time, get back into a routine, and ready for the new rugby season and school year!

It would be great to see as many girls as possible at training if your not on holiday. Let’s get the team back together, build that fitness and confidence, and most importantly have some fun! 🙌

New players are always welcome too, so if your daughter has a friend who fancies giving rugby a go, bring them along! 🏉🖤💛💜

Week2 of the Girls marathon let’s get behind them and support the girls trip to Kenya 🇰🇪

One of our rugby girls & friend are taking on an amazing challenge.

For 4 weeks, they’ll be walking a full marathon every single week — that’s over 100 miles in total! 👏

The money they raise will go towards supporting their volunteering trip and the work they’ll be doing while they’re out in Kenya.

It’s a massive challenge and they’d really appreciate any support, whether that’s a donation or simply sharing their page to help spread the word. Every little bit will help! ❤️

After careful consideration and consultation with clubs across England, the RFU has decided to delay the start of the competitive community game season until the week commencing Monday 21 September.

We will release further information regarding our revised preseason games and our age grade rugby season when available, training continues as planned and bar is open on training evenings.
